For me, the chronics. But it depends how stiff you want your skis. If you want to ski switch a lot and are in the market for something a bit softer, get C-wides, if you're looking for a stiffer ski, get Karmas. Both very good options, though.
I would go with the karma. i have had two pairs and i love them. they are the best all mountain twin out there. if you want a ski that is rock solid underfoot however, you can still take it in the park the volkl is the way to go. how big are you by the way because the 177 might be large enough?
The Karma is a way better ski than the chronic wide and coming from me that is a shocking analysis. The Chronic wide is simply the old Skogan Sprang, no changes. The Karma kills it cuz metal is better than carbon fiber stringers. If you weigh 190 plus and you absolutely kill it get the 185cm Karma otherwise get the 177cm Karma, you'd like either more than the chronic though and Line is my favorite ski brand so trust me on this one.
Volkl has always made solid skis. And thet're rep isnt for nothing. Defiantly go with the Karma, you wont be disappointed, i know a couple of my buddies have skiied the crap outta their Volkl and they are still performing. Defiantly go with the longest Karma's, but i wouldnt reccomend marker's bindings. Try Something like Look P14's.
can the karma hold its own on double black diamonds in the east, mostly created snow and ice? because i know for sure that line ski's i've had in the past definitely can not
idk, i have the 04/05 skogen sprang and its a pretty sick ski, kills it everywhere, I know that karma is really good too, its a stiffer ski, it really depends though, i just really like my skogens a lot
