Volkl Bridge

I have been searching about these skis for next year. I was wondering 2 things, I understand they are a sort of stiff ski, what can they be compared in flex too??

Also, the weight seemed inconsistent. Some people said it was really light and a few said heavy. What can they be compared in weight too?

More specifically, what is the flex like compared to the Salomon Gun?

+++ karma for good response.

i picked up some bridges last year and there and excellent all purpose ski. Great all mtn and pow ski, and pretty damn well in the park. granted im not the best park skier in world but they handled rails and boxes with ease. they are pretty stiff, i know there stiffer then my buddys foils, i ve never flexed the guns so not sure, sorry. on the weight i would say there pretty average but there def not the lightest ski on the market. i ve got light solly bindings on mine which helps, but the weight is distributed nicely i have no problem throughing them around and they ski switch better then my old fujatives. bottom line great ski. hope this helps a little

yea

i forget where, but i read a review somewhere that said the core of the ski felt like it was dead and had no pop. and considering volkl is redoing all their cores next year, it might we worth waiting and getting a pair of next years. if i find the review i'll let you know. my friend has this years though and they're still great skis

Last years were stiffer than the Karmas, but they are changing the core on them this year, but I bet that they will be about the same stiffness. They are probably just a little heavier than average.

Alright, so I am looking for them to be pretty light, do you think the 09 with new core would be that much lighter? I assume that these arent like anvils and would be fine for things like 7's sw 5 flips ect??

I have a pair of 179's with Look PX 12's, I just weighed them at 13 lbs (combined). They are stiffer than your avg jib ski, much stiffer than the gun.

if your looking for an all mt ski and not just something for in the park this is def the ski!! Most comparable to the Karmas...a bit stiffer, wider, and heavier. The ski itself really isnt that much heavier than similar all mt skis...just depends what bindings you throw on them. this is one sick ski!

ps... def stiffer than the gun

well i'd wait and get the 09s because of the new core, but i don't think their weight will be a huge deal. i'd worry more about their mounting point, which is super far back and might kill the swing weight. so maybe try ask around and find the farthest forward mounting point that still skis forward well.

Thats a good idea actually. I want these skis as a basically 1 ski to do it all. I have scratches for urban and a day thats all park. So i want to be able to ski all mountain and SOME park.

Maybe like 70% all mountain %30 park?? What have other people mounted at?

probably. its pretty directional at 130 at the shovel and only 112 at the tail. id imagine mounting it that far forward would make it very hooky. be that as it may... a friend of mine is running them and loves them all mountain, the tip floated like crazy on a two foot day we had earlier in the season. he doesnt ski park, so im afraid i cant give u his take on that.

if you're looking at a one ski do all, maybe the kung fujas? its more jibby than the bridge, and roughly the same weight, considering its a fatter ski. and sorry to toss out another suggestion, just a thought.

Can someone tell me how the bridge compares to the line Prophet 90s and Nithward First blood and what would be the best ski for skiing powder, crud, heavy wet Australian snow and Ice and a few hits in the park

go to the volkl site and send them an email they're super legit, just ask what the furthest forward mounting point on them is before they start skiing bad.

Yo, I'm 6", 165lb. riding the Bridge in a 177 with jesters mounted 2cm back from core centre.Skis are fucking dope. super fun on the shred mish or in the park and stiff enough to rip in the crud, we just had a couple of pow days (20-30cm) and they were super sweet in that. I was hoping to get the 185 but wasn't going to work out in time
Skis feel super light and ski that way without being flimsy or flappy
Volkl are bombproof too... Well so far, after 4 pairs of broken skis last season i feel i can safely say i ride a ski hard.
