Just finished up an edit from snowflex; you may have seen it on the homepage.

But yeah, I'd love some feedback on it. It was my first try at using a glidecam (damn, it's harder than I thought...) so I know I need to work on framing, smoothness, etc. But other than that, let me know what you think. Thanks!
 
It was a ton better than a lot of others I've seen, but yeah could be improved.

+ this is by far the best dryslope edit I've seen.

@OP, did that dude actually get taken out by that crash? I never see anyone get hurt on dryslopes, aren't they padded underneath?
 
That is such a fucked way to land, I've seen a kid break his hip doing the same thing except he was only going for one flip and he threw it a little too much. That fall is definitely what did him in.
 
For sure, it's just the dryslopes are so strange here I've seen people do things that would kill on a tramp
 
thanks guys, yeah my biggest problem was definitely it just going wild/swinging/not being able to stop it very quickly. I didn't want to use my hand that wasn't holding it very much since I feel like that compromises the gyro. I believe I have it balanced, and the 2 second drop test works, so I don't know how else to adjust it. As Myles suggested, will pulling the weights up (shortening the shaft) help?

sorry, I kinda turned this into a "help me use my glidecam" thread but figured it'd be better than making a new one.
 
yes I'm aware, I meant I didn't want to straight up hold it with the other hand also or else there's no point in using a glidecam. I just have to find that happy medium I guess.
 
Oh gotcha, and there would still be some point, as you could have a perfectly balanced top and bottom, but it wouldn't fully stabilize.

General rule seems to be thumb and forefinger.
