Vital Films - Days are Longer teaser

did i spot a hayden price going brown eye down? i don't want to read through all the previous comments..sorry

you guys are tripping this edit had way better flow than slamina's cut every 2 seconds... got me feeling good

to many haters

too much b footy and slow mo. also saturation and contrast or levels or whatever was a lil over done for me.

just my two cents.

don't get me wrong though the cinematography looked sick

that was a good trailer but it was WAY too long. 4 minutes is like a quarter of the total lenght of 95% of amateur movies (and most pro movies also). Trim it down, it will make those ADD kids a lot more satisfied.

that was without a doubt the lamest song i have ever heard in a trailer. why are skiers so behind the curve on music? why to they like such terrible songs?

the kid who owns vital films, name is hobbs, works for akomplice too and makes the music videos for the grouch, cunninlynguists, and main flow... so the movie is going to be both skiing, dope rap, and whatever else he has been doing with akomplice. he just got back from filming dope skaters in south america with main flow so maybe there will be some of that in there too.

both look amazing!

but, film cannot be exactly replicated. i just thought that they tried too hard to make it film like in vital's trailer than just focusing on being visually pleasing to the eye, where as field, and i'm sure superman still take other things into consideration.

well technically, film can't be replicated because the image is not graphed with film in a x/y axis sense; it is photogenically matted onto a light sensitive emulsion.

But it is quite easy to make digital look exactly like film to the average viewer. Especially if you are shooting a fancy HD digital camera (Arri D20, RED, etc.) because you have more freedom for post when you shoot such formats. Things such as grain, shutter, gamma curves, color balence, contrast, etc. can all be adjusted in said process.

To contradict my statement, it may look exactly like film to a typical viewer, but waveform monitors will show that they are way off from each other even if you are successful in duplication the film-like ambience.
