here is the problem

mozilla firefox does not work on my brand new vista laptop

it will run and then freeze and crash.

please dont say "should have bought a mac" because i really don't care

has anyone else had this sort of problem on vista

vista has all sorts of problems right now you're just going to have to wait until Microsoft releases a service pack

sorry bro

Yes, the best thing he can do right now is toss aside his brand new computer and buy another one that is overpriced. I guess if throwing money out the window is one of his hobbies, he could do that, but otherwise his best bet is what other people said: uninstall and reinstall. And make sure that you're getting the Vista version too. When you go to www.firefox.com, it should say "Vista" underneath "Download Now"

youre all stupid. go to your firewall settings and make sure your computer is allowing firefox to access the internet.

i would use maxthon. my favorite browser. but i think one or two people up above gave some good advice so do that.

well vista has a whole lot of redundant levels of protection installed so maybe it does...

i've used vista for a month or 2 now on my mothers laptop and some of the things it does still boggles the mind.... its like it thinks for itself and does/doesn't do certain things at random... just to piss you off.

vista is super easy to use if you stick to the basics of what its meant for (word processing, sharing pictures/videos, etc...) but once you start to do things that its not directly designed for (anything else) it goes for a crap

firefox works well with vista for me

The only problem I've had with vista so far is that certain computer games aren't compatible yet, but they will be after the next patch.

I had a problem getting it to work at first, adjust your uac (user account control) stuff, I just turn it off since it kinda just fucks all my stuff up

pretty sure thats what fixed it for me
