Vishnus or Magnus

I'm a fairly new park skier (2nd year in park), but a very aggressive, advanced skier on the rest of the hill. I currently ski 181 kartel 108s but I've had a hard time spinning them because they're not center mounted, so I'm looking for a dedicated park ski. I like the flex in the kartels, but I want more for the park as I am very light and like butters and other ski flexing stuff. However, I'm also interested in hucking myself off huge jumps without killing myself. I was thinking about buying vishnus when they restock as I really like their style, flex, and durability, but I'm worried about washing out on big jumps. I also like the on3p magnus, but I'm worried it might be too hard to flex as the kartel 108 is harder to flex then I would like. What are your experiences on those skis, pros, cons of each?

I'm 6ft 140lbs 16 yrs old

Buying new center mounted skis won’t fix this.

My skis are mounted only a few centimeters from middle and I can spin just fine if there mounted back a lot farther then that I think it does make a difference Bc my old skis were mounted way back and I could never do any spin past 180

This. Even mounted back a ton it won't effect you super noticeably. Plus the kartel is a freestyle ski and is made to pop and spin and have fun on.

Out of those two skis though I would go with the Magnus. It won't fold on you outside the park.

Get them remounted to either 2 back or center, better than buying new skis in my opinion

the layup of the Kartel 108 is made to be stiffer than both the magnus and kartel 98. The magnus has a similar flex feel to the blend, but offers a more consistent flex through the tip and tail. 181 Magnus is a great all around ski and was my personal favorite at Beartooth. No, I did not drop the cornice.

Don't blame the skis lol.

I have vishnus in 183 and you'd be surprised by how stable they are. I have hit bigger, at least "big" for me, (35 ish) jumps comfortably for the first season in my life thanks to them. They aren't noodles but will butter if you know how and can press them hard. I wouldn't say they wash out at all, but they carve very uniquely with their side cut and take a minute to get used to. The vishnus are a very raw simple ski in my opinion and that rawness is what makes them so good for being creative with your skiing. The magnus at least from what I've seen and read is a stiffer and more refined ski with some different tech that I think would give them some advantages Vs the vishnus outside of the park, but I wouldn't call the Vs less stable or worse, just different.

All I can say from skiing half a season on some new carpets. Not sure if this helps

"I can't jump cause I'm wearing a backpack"

That's what u sound like blaming your mount on your spins...when i first started learning 3s and stuff my skis were mounted pretty far back, had no problems with balance or anything. It's not the skis it's you.

Magnus all the way though, ON3P's customer service and products are all time.

i totally agree with people that youre blaming too much on the mount location but i do agree that the 108 is not a ski primarily made for park and a park ski will feel much better for that stuff. so i dont think it's crazy to get a park ski, and since you already have the k108s id say get the vishnus (or something else) for variety's sake

just my 2 cents

THE BLEND?! bro u can make a literall U out of the blend, the magnus 90 may butter but is not that flex whatsoever

^Agreed, I guess “flex feel” is a vague term. I do think it takes a similar amount of pressure to butter them. The Magnus pushes back where the blend continues to flex.
