Vishnu Wides question

Im thinking about getting Vishnu wides. I spend about 60 to 70 percent of my time in the park, but when Im not in the park I like riding steep double blacks and chutes. Would wides be able to preform on these types of terrains, because if not that would be a deal breaker?

I ride both the wide and wide plus outside of the park and I’m a fan.

nah bro, you need something with way my back bone and taper, and much preferable not fully symmetrical.

Honestly im a huge advocate of having multiple skis, especially if you ski park. if you insist on only having one pair, get the ski thats best for where you ski most and make it work everywhere else. If you want wides for park, get wides. Dont get a big mountain ski and hate hitting rails. Dont get a ski thats mediocre at both. Get your wides, save some cash, and next year get some rippin big mountain sticks.

plus if you rip vishnus on sketchy terrain, its just that much sicker if you ski it well. I popped one guys ridge bridger ridge hike cherry who had wides, and it was pretty sick.

over the last two years I've skied wide + at mt baker on all sorts of terrain. They go great but after this last summer blowing out my edges at hood, they no longer are all mtn beasts. If your looking for a good all mtn ski get a good stiff park ski like the wide+, nomad 105, ufo 105, or something like those. I would not recommend skiing any rails on these if you are trying to ski anything steep and icy, almost lost my life last year when I dropped into a chute w no edge and it was all ice.

Wide pluses are good they just don’t rip on chutes and harder runs

Long story short, they rip outside of the park. I've been riding them for the past 4 seasons and don't see myself switching anytime soon.

They are soft and bad for high speed stuff. Basically wets that do better in deeper snow, not good for speed in the slightest

I think that’s the perfect ski. Rides really nice wherever you take it. If you are worried about the softness when it comes to cliff landings I would go wide plus for a lil extra support when you need it. I ski the same park/other shit ratio and the wide plus does me good.

good comparison for perspective. Once the plus is broken in, it’s about the same stiffness that a regular Vishnu would be brand new out the box. All around such a nice feeling ski

Ski wides at Alta all the time. And I’ll bring two pairs of skis up depending on the day. Wides and either prodigy 3s, Jeff’s, keys or arvs. For some god damn reason I always go back to the wides. I know the other skis will be better on certain shit like hitting germ or something. But damn the wides are just too fun everywhere else.

I got the wides and I love them they are so fun in and out of the park, also they are harder to ride on steep stuff but not that much harder its just an adjustment.
