Vishnu wide or Wide plus?

I’ve been debating on ether the 177 regular wides or the 183 Wide plus I’ve never skied the wides I currently have the 177 wets so for the wides I kinda wanted to go a bit stiffer and get the plus the only problem is I’ve never skied anything longer then 177 wets and the wide plus comes in only 183 and of course going From 177s to 183s are not a big difference in length but the 183s will be stiffer so I’m not sure if they will feel to long for me I’m 5,8 150lb I’m having a hard time making a decision lol but thanks for any help. By the way I’ve never skied a wide ski in my life but I gotta see what all the hype is about

183 wide if you want butter that also park fun with some powder.

183 wide+ if you want a little less butter that also park fun with more powder than normal wide.

177 wide is going to look like a chode so that's not very new wave as one might say.

189 if you want to drop women's panties.

Definitely 183 wide or wide +

177 wides is what I would pick and would be good for me and I'm 5'6

for reference I ride 177 wets

183 is pretty long for 5’8 but its not insane I guess. Are you going to grow any more?

As far as wide or wide plus I can’t speak much because i’ve never rode regular wides but my wide plus are significantly softer than my Jeffs (with soft flex option). The website says they are 6/10 stiffness which seems crazy to me tbh, I couldn’t imagine being on a regular flex V but obviously im the weirdo because people love them. Hate to not give you an actual answer but idk which one would be better for you, like I said, all I know is the Pluses are still very soft skis

Wides are still extremely light btw, i’ve never rode wets but my wide plus are my fav park ski ever. So light and soft. I love the width for park too, super fun

Hard decisions lmao but the 189s sound valid but now I’m thinking I’m gonna go with the 183s for the extra steez and stability just debating on the regular wides or plus but I want something I bit stiffer then my wets and the wides and wets both have 3/10 flex but I’m assuming the wides will feel more stable for jumps because it’s a wider ski even tho the flex rating is the same as the wets but I could be wrong I’ve never had a wide ski so I don’t know

I turn 22 next month so probably just about done growing I’ve always skied a 170 arv then just recently got 177 wets and the 177s ski perfect for me i thought they were gonna feel long going from that 170 to 177 jump but they feel perfect of course the 170s were a traditional cambered park ski tho, I’m just worried that 183s will be a bit long but i could be just overthinking it since it’s only 2 inches longer then the 177s I’m currently on

I switched from 177 wet to 183 wide, I'm 5'8 155lb. Takes a couple days on snow to get used to the change, and they def feel a bit stiffer initially. because you get a fair amount of rocker on the Vishnus they really don't feel a whole lot bigger tbh. basically it feels like you're on a bigger and stiffer wet.

still super playful, agile skis but you get a lot more stability than the wets

Sickkk good to know since we have pretty much identical height and weight do you like them more then the wets I know a couple people that have the wets and wides and mostly ski there wides and also you just have the regular 3/10 wides right not the plus?

If you want more stability than your wets get the pluses because imo the width is not helping me too much with my stability lol. Keep in kind I am coming from Jeffs and not wets so im sure the wides are slightly more stable but I think the flex impacts the stability more than width. If I don’t land perfect on my wide plus it feels a little crazy ngl, but it takes me literally zero effort to flex those bad boys and like I said, im coming from a stiffer ski, not a softer one like you

[tag=204489]@Cspliffff[/tag] actually rode both now that I think about it, maybe he has some input for you

Nah I have the plus. And yea I like them a lot, I actually ended up selling my wets after I broke my wide plusses in lol

Last season I daily skied my wides and I loved them. I got wide pluses so I could skin on them but I also used them to get used to new tricks that I needed more stability to try. For example, when I learned flat spins, my normal wides would wash out if I landed backseat but my pluses didn't. They both butter just fine. It sounds like you want a stiffer ski that is still playful so I would recommend the plus.

I personally think you’d be good on the pluses, I’m 5”11 on a good day and my 183’s feel perfect. I also got 189 regular wides and because of the extra length they do feel more stable then what the flex in them should feel but overall my pluses are way better. Like you said that 6cm difference isn’t too much big so you’ll get used to it quick

I’m just spamming the post at this point but if you do a lot of skiing outside of the park 100% get the pluses

Probably because if Sour Patch Kid Bars was on Newschoolers he would have an orange name and I am Sour Patch Kid Bars.

howd you enjoy skinning on the wyde +?

I liked it for the little amount of skinning that I did. I sometimes found it easier to get up steeper things because they were center mounted and I had a little bit more ski to balance on. I didn’t really care about the weight but if you are looking for lighter probably not the best way to go.

I just put cast on mine, seems like its gonna be hella fun. thanks for your insight
