Vishnu Wets: pros and cons?

I found a pretty good deal on some wets in my size, but I was wondering if I should pull the trigger. I don’t want to have any limitations and still be able to ski essentially anywhere on the mountain, but are wets too playful to ski all mountain? I still want to be able to hit jumps and jibs too

It sounds like there would be better options for you. If you’re super set with Vishnu, maybe look at the plus or the keys. Depending on how much snow you get, you might also want to consider wides.

but I think there are better options for you. Don’t buy vs just for the hype

I saw a pretty big deal on wets with pivots already with them, that’s why I started this thread anyways. But I do feel like the keys or the plus are probs a better option

I ski everything on Vishnu's, cliffs, powder, ice, rails, jumps, dirt, grass, concrete.

The only times I ever regret using Vishnu's is larger cliff drops. they don't handle large 20-40 footers to steep landings. Does that mean they are impossible to ski off cliffs? Nah, I sent 30's in them on the regular.

The only thing you will have issues with Vishnu's (other then getting used to them) is icy groomers, hard pack. I find that I have to get extremely aggressive to get any decent carves on a choppy, or icy day.

Yeah if you're looking to ski all mountain regularly I would not recommend buying, Vishnu's do really well as the fun playful ski for slushy park laps. Not the everyday charger.

I literally only own Vishnus for 3 years and drop 30-40

Also Is that not what I fucking said in my response, I was saying that they don't preform well off cliffs.

Well sure it’s possible but wets definitely aren't ideal at all for this type of skiing

Yeah no shit, thats what I was saying. But you make it sound so alien to drop a cliff on vishnus man. I would even say they handle good on any terrain given you are accustomed to them.

Yeah man I’d maybe look elsewhere. I’m getting wides to go with my Jeff 102s for a softer jibbier ski

True, you can effectively ski anywhere on any type of ski in any type of conditions, given you have the skill set for it. (Within reason of course.)

wets are good for any day because they are always the wrong ski. you don't need to worry about what conditions.

you will have more fun than you have ever had tho, you will keep skiing the wrong ski for the conditions for the rest of your life.

Love my Plus, wife likes her normal wets. 100% would buy again or give the wide plus a shot. Supporting a small freeski brand is a plus

You’re a fucking idiot and put in negative effort to learn about Vishnu wets if you think they’ll be a decent ski to freeride, hit cliffs and charge on. How about instead of dick riding trends you just stop skiing all together and get some fucking brains.

pros:

soft

forgiving

great for rails and swerve stuff

cons:

too soft for big jumps and "real" skiing

NS has a collective mental disorder about them and will make weird unsolicited comments about your riding them or talking about them for some reason
