Vishnu Wets 177 or 183?

So i’m looking at buying either wets or wets pluses, i’m a pretty good skier, i ride mostly parc but all moutain as well, i’m 5’10 150lbs. I want a ski that won’t make me wash out when i hit small jumps but a ski that’ll still butter and jib like crazy. I’m wondering, what would be best? Wets 183 or Wets Pluses 177? That are the two sizes/models i have in mind, any recommendations?

plusses are just stiffer, wets are a soft ski so if you are planning on going big on jumps get the plusses, get 183 maybe even 189 if u want sum pussy

search up about wet pluses, nothing much will come up that’s why i’m making a thread about it

The wet and wet plus are the same ski except the plus is stiffer. You needed a new thread to find that out?

Way to be welcoming guys! OP, of the options, you want a 183 for sure, and I'd probably still go with the Plus. If you're a good skier you can for sure ski the regular Wet on jumps. But if you're even asking about stability, I'd just get the Plus. It's still gonna be a super loose, buttery ski because of the rocker, it just has a bit more support throughout.

Wow thank you, was kind of getting scared, people seemed to hate, i’m new here and i’m sorry for the inconvenience of asking my already answered question, but i’m happy you gave me a good answer! Last question i have, any idea of a comparable flexing ski to the wet? like maybe a blend or a chronic? would a wet plus be as stiff as say a reckonner 102? I’ve never buttered before and i want to be sure i’ll be good to butter on the wet plus if i buy them instead of normal wets:)

It's difficult to make direct comparisons like that because how buttery a ski is depends on more than flex. For example, the ON3P Jeffrey (Kartel) is a stiff ski. But because of having shitloads of rocker, it's still fairly easy butter on. The Vishnu profile is maybe even more rockered, especially in the tail. It might take a little more work and commitment to butter on the Plus than the Wet, but they'll still be easier to butter than a Reckoner 102. In terms of actual flex, I'd say the Wet is stiffer than the Blend for sure, but it's easier to butter in my opinion. The Wet+ I have only very briefly skied, but I'd say it feels about like a Prodigy 3.0 give or take flex wise... But with much more rocker.

Alright! I think I’ve made up my decision, I’ll be going with Wets 183, I’m not planning on going on bigger jumps than maybe 6 feet big air, people seem to consider them pretty stable on small jumps, hope i won’t wash out too much. It’s my first brand new skis by the way, that’s why i’m so picky and nervous about it:)

No worries man! All good, kind of dumb from myself taht i didn’t do more research;)

I would go with 183 especially at your height and because they are center mounted also think of wets as like line blend flex and wet plus as like line chronic or edollos

Went with Wet+ 183 and godddd dude they’re perfect, for me at least! For me they’re buttery enough that i can jib around but also sooo poppy! Recommend 100% wet pluses and for the height they’re taller than me and it’s not a problem at all, they’ve so much rocker that they don’t feel long:)

ended up gettin the wet 183, Im hoping they have a little bit of pop still but the wet plus wouldn't suit my home mountain well lol. I ski on slush/ice 80 percent of the time with the jumps only being like 3 feet so i gotta jib around instead of doing normal shit lol
