Emmett said on live (after I asked him like 50 times) that Vishnu is making a new model ski here’s what we know

- “non park ski” so prob not a twin

- All mountain big sender type

- 110 underfoot

- might be called “TANK”

Hell yea, I love watching this brand elevate

I really doubt that it won't be a twin, that would be a pretty unexpected move for vishnu

He said non twin tho, which really piqued my interest cuz I agree with you, I was imagining a stiffer Key until he said that. I think we’re bouta see something really unique

Wait I thought that was just you speculating lol. That's crazy

I hope not. Hopefully he was being sarcastic. Emmett said on two planker that powder skiing was boring, if he then went and made a dedicated powder/all mount ski that would be kinda wack. The wide skis perfectly fine in any condition. The Key was the farthest from a street ski I was hoping to see Vishnu venture. I definitely dont want vishnu to become an all mountain/powder ski brand.

Damn.

The whole idea is in its infancy still, when I said non-park ski I didn't mean non twin tip. I'm imagining a ski that you could ride in the park if you felt like it, but that's not necessarily what it is designed for.

I personally don't ski much powder/cliffs (It hurts my knees and I'm a pretty lazy skier generally) but if the people on the team need a ski that I don't have, I need to make it. Last year Dak had to ride a pair of K2's when doing the 686 product shoot thing because the wide plus couldn't hold up in the cascade cement. That is obviously unacceptable. I made the wet plus because I saw bigger/taller people on the squad needed something stiffer, made the Wide because we were skiing a lot at Brighton (variable conditions) and made the Key because Kysen needed something he could take to the bottom on a rodeo 9 at PC.

If the needs of the group dictate a product, it is my job to provide that product. As the Labor bros age they have been riding a lot at Alta and Snowbird, it's time to make them a ski for that. Vishnu isn't going to pivot completely to being a fuckin full arteryx yewping from the lift type brand, don't worry. I'm going to make like 20 pairs of this new ski, give it out to the team and see what happens, just like I always do.

I'll be jibbing picnic tables until I'm 40, but its good to try new things.

I do like the name Tank though the more I think about it.

When is the frontside carver “the dry” going to drop?

You joke, but I would buy the shit out of a mirus-cor type ski from Vishnu. As long as it comes in 189.

Thanks for elaborating further bro!! Excited to see whatever you come up with over there. Also yea, Vishnu Tank has a real nice ring to it. I gotta say, the Key is gonna be tough to top, I think its becoming a benchmark ski.. atleast for me it is anyways.

This is why Emmett is successful. Bravo for engaging the community and continuing to push boundaries. And don’t be afraid to keep jibbing until you are in your 50s or 60’s. The hand rails aren’t going anywhere.

Any insight on construction? ie materials used: metal, wood, sand core, etc.

Yup, i love the transparency when it comes to Vishnu. No other brand is this engaged with their customers.

I’m not joking at all, got my first pair of frontside carvers this year and they are fun as fuck and really help for warming up in the morning. The Dry is happening, we just have to manifest it like we did with 189s

I would be so hyped to try a pair of Vishnu's first big mountain ski

Mirus Cor are sick you'd take my money if you made a 13 m radius 189 twin with deep rocker lines and just a little bit o' metal

That’s what I’m thinking, probably just stiff and not meant to be mounted near center.

This is exciting though, maybe I’ll see someone beyond Collin Kidd rip freeride on vishnus in the near future. I support this move, real dope.

i mean a fishtail ski would fit the vibe without being a twin

I would really like to see a wide symmetrical ski on the market. I dont know if thats where you are going with it, but just want it known that I want that.

I don't live where the Tank would be useful to me but I would buy this though. Vishnu blasting the Nastar course on Tuesday nights beer league haha.

Fr this is what i wanna see… i ride surface outsiders which are like a 112 center mount ski and it’s fun as fuck if vishnu made something similar i’d be all for it

I second this. A wider, stiffer, and heavier symmetrical ski sounds like a lot of fun

I miss my Outsiders so much. The 3 stage rocker and stiffness/dampness made them blast through crap like no other skis could.
