Vishnu should sponsor Siver

Bro,

You do realize he is a industry insider and knows the exact finances of each company he spits out, as well as their sponsorship structure and what kind of ROI they get from that sponsorship.

Not sure what companies you're comparing J skis to but the majority of your opinion is completely incorrect. The only companies that are going to do more than J are corporate companies such as K2, Armada, Volkl, Line and Faction. Siver would not be a good fit on Volkl, Line, or Faction though I could see him on K2 or Armada which is only 2 companies to choose from. Rossignol, Atomic and Salomon are no longer in the park game and as far as grassroots companies the only ones that could offer him anything substantial are J skis, Liberty and Icelantic. Icelantic sucks to deal with as I have a homie who rides for them so I would throw that out unless you ski big mountain. Thus leaves J skis and Liberty which would both make sense. If you think J skis isn't hooking it up for Sam Zahner you're a Jabroni; homie even got his own pro model in a short amount of time. I'm not saying he's just in it for the money so J would be a happy medium where he gets hooked up but is also apart of a tight knit squad.

idk what to tell you man, j skis is not a company that has high rider salaries, relative to anything. wouldn't be surprised if none of them are even salaried. go look at the TEAM page on their website lmao

not important tho so spare me the next scenic route to the wrong answer

Yeah I’m pretty sure J has said that nobody gets paid anything at all unless they have a pro graphic and get royalties

People don't realize how expensive teams really are....

I spent over ten racks on the team in 2020, including season passes, travel, and even rent/food. Most of you don’t know what you’re talking about.

Out of curiosity, how much do you guess Zahner gets from J Skis?

Apart from the free shit he gets clothes etc he has his Pro model ski. Depending on how business smart/savvy he is Zanher should have negotiated a royalty on each ski. This is a win win for Zahner and J skis as he will work harder to push and sell the skis since he is getting a cut for every pair sold. Everything is about leverage so J skis has the leverage as Zahner will now be taking initiative to get as many pairs sold as possible due to the royalty he's getting; thus J skis doesn't have to work as much with selling and marketing the ski. Hopefully the royalty is percentage based on he gets 5-10 percent or more for each ski.

For the contrary if he didn't negotiate a royalty that's a bone head move in my opinion and he should of went else where as you have to know how much you're worth. He brings a lot to the table and on top of this he def gets some kind of travel budget though as far as the size I'm not sure.

It's 2021 so no ski company is just going to cut you a check to ski. The only park skiers who I personally think get an actual check from the United States are roughly Nick Goepper, Alex Hall, Colby Stevenson, Wallisch and maybe a few others. Europe is different as the ski industry as a whole has more money there and skiers are looked at much differently. Skiers in Europe have prestige around their name, people in Europe actually follow and care about the ski scene where as in America skiing and park skiing are extremely niche.

Hey dipshit incase you can't do math that's a solid win for Zahner. The skis retail at $600 and if there's 200 pairs made that's $120,000. Obviously you factor in the cost's to make the skis etc. At the end of the day Zahner still got a solid chunk of change and that's just on the royalty. I don't know who you know that gets paid to ski but whoever they are let us know how much their getting and whos paying them. I'll wait hahaha.

park skiing is way more niche in Europe and its way harder to get sponsored if you're living in Europe

I’m really enjoying this thread lmao. Idk where anyone else is coming from or who gets paid what so I’m keeping my mouth shut and taking everything in from those who definitely have an “in” in the industry. Shoutout Tall T Dan and Emmett for putting people in their places and spitting facts about what’s really going on.

also threads to see how the rest of this thread pans out in the future

^^^ should really listen to two planker podcast (kirk scully, connor clayton, and andy perry give the most info). It gives you insight as to how much a "pro" skier makes vs what you thought. Unless you are involved in the company as an employee you're most likely not getting much (couple thousand if that) and need a side hustle job and just work od in the summer to be able to bum...
