Visa's / work permits for brit's ++ karma for help

I've been offered a job in Canada ski instructing (kimberly) this winter but having problems getting a visa. BUNAC won't allow me to get a student visa because they only give out student visas to people at university or with unconditionals but I won't hear back from universities until after the Canadian job starts.

I'm now trying to get a work permit through the Canadian Embassy (costing £500 for their services) and now they are telling me I need to get an E-LMO form to be able to get a work permit and they will sort it out for me for £400. Does anyone know a cheaper way for me to work in Canada for the ski season (5 months)?

many thanks guys (and a few gals)

Dude, you should work under the table. Become an illegal migrant worker. If mexicans can pick fruit in BC and the US under the radar who would care about some Visa dodgin Brit shredin some gnar.

you think they would hook you up ... with the commonwealth and all.

God Save the Queen ,

best of luck

Im looking at the same thing for next year, im over their just training this season for my level 1 and 2 at Jasper but come next year I hope to either go to Big White/Silver Starr or the Banff resorts.

Did you get any further, I was going to apply for a work permit this year but I need a job offer before I can apply for one and I only want to work a few hours a week as Ill be training but you cant get apply for a permit from within Canada so I'm just gonna see if theres any cash jobs or something going. I would really like to know though for next year hopefully someone has some info :)
