"earned" is a tricky word for me here. he did something very well (for a while) that generates a ridiculous amount of money and thus people are willing to pay him that much for it. i'm sure he worked incredibly hard and had a good amount of raw talent that got him to that place, but his field just happened to be one with a ridiculous revenue stream. he got $26 million dollars not because 1,000 times as hard as someone making $26,000 dollars, he got it because football makes a lot of money. in the end, all it comes down to for me is that nobody needs $26 million dollars a year, and to see it thrown away by a guy that was worshipped by a nation is fucked up.

But It doesn't matter what you think anyone "needs". He delivers a product that people want, and he got paid for it. You may as well tell anyone that they have to give all their money to charity. Just because he makes more doesn't mean he is any less entitled to it

Shit makes me sick, I understand living a high class life style, he worked hard, but honestly, what a waste of money, either donate or save. That money could get him through the rest of his life in a fairly upperclass lifestyle, maybe not private jets everyday, but a multi million dollar house and an overall nice life style could easily be obtained with that money. Why are people so fucking stupid, when they have so much.
