This could possibly be a really dumb question, but why do most edits go on Vimeo. I mean like I never see any on youtube, but there on vimeo?

Your response is pathetic.

As far as I know Vimeo is regarded as a more thought out and well edited video hosting site, where as YouTube has nice videos mixed in with total shit videos. It could have something to do with the actual player / website, but I've always viewed it as Vimeo = higher quality while YouTube = high/low/everythinginbetween quality.

thx m80 +karma for your thoughtful response

Vimeo doesn't seem to get as many copyright claims either, and as for the "Why not NS?" question, it's nice to have your videos on one, professional looking page. Even though my edits suck, friends and family are still interested so it's easier to tell them to look me up on Vimeo, and I can say that knowing the audio (probably) won't be fucked from Youtube.

Vimeo is more clean cut and professional looking than NS/YouTube. Not saying NS is dirty lookin but it's not hard to find yourself reading "pee in her butt" somewhere on the site.

Because youtube sucks and so does this thread.

dont know why you got so many downvotes.. but its true

i used to only watch ski videos on youtube before i discovered ns and i always wondered why i couldnt find any ski videos besides simon dumonts slumdog illionaire and toms so far so hood

Another thing to note is that Vimeo supports higher bit rates, so your videos can potentially be much higher quality on Vimeo, whereas YouTube would just compress them.
