Vimeo Vs Youtube

youtube is for funny cat videos and failcompilations, vimeo is for ski edits and artsy stuff

 
I also think vimeo has the same level of copyright protection as youtube so your videos wont get taken down if you dont have the rights to use certain songs. I could be wrong though.

vimeo seems to load faster on average

but they're kinda apples/oranges imo. youtube is good for browsing videos, vimeo not so much. but most of the shit you kind on youtube is retarded anyways. and when I want to post music it's always youtube, because youtube has almost every song out there that isn't completely underground and unheard of.

its good for stealing shit quality versions of songs, stupid and thats about it.

due to the volume of shit going onto yotube they have to compress the fuck out of videos and hence your decent quality video goes to shit. youtube ads are shit. theyre cunts about music rights (for good reason due to the volume of videos going up) the only good thing about youtube is that if you post enough and have enough hits you can make some money.

vimeo has a better player, better quality, a layout which is kinder on the eye with more "white" space. no hoard of retards commenting on everything just to comment. no ads. due to the lower volume of users you can upload larger files versions of things so greater quality from the off and less cromression. also you dont have to reload the video just because you clicked full screen on vimeo which pisses me off about youtube. no stick up vimeos ass about copryright of music. as nuch as i hope people get the idea of how good vimeo is i dont want it ruined by the things which make youtube bad.
 
I agree with all your points, but for everything that vimeo doesn't have, youtube does. (content wise)

what kind of chaps my ass though is the viral video thing. remember the video of the german (?) guy jumping into the frozen pool? I saw the OG upload of it with only a couple thousand views, then I went to find it again the next day and PAGES of the exact same video had been uploaded by dozens of random users.

If I was that guy I would be pretty mad about so many people trying to take credit/make money off of my video.

not to mention that 90% of viral videos are fucking stupid as hell anyways. oh look a panda sneezing, better watch it 50 times then post a hundred comments about how cute it is then share it on facebook!

kinda rambling cause im a tad stoney baloney but in a nutshell, I hate youtube and the youtube community, but if it disappeared all of a sudden, I would miss it greatly.
 
On my laptop i feel like that the streaming videos on Vimeo is a lot faster compared to Youtube. I also like Vimeo's layout and quality better.
 
i use youtube and vimeo, but i like youtube more because i get a lot more publicity and views on it then vimeo. vimeo sucks for browsing, even tho it has better stuff, theres less of it and i cant find stuff i want.

i currently have 66 subscribers and 94000 total views, compared to vimeo where i have 0 followers and maybe 100 total views
 
I've just found that vimeo has much better video quality and in general better videos and youtube just has more. So basically the same as what everyone else is saying.
