Vimeo file size

Yo NS need a quick response so i went to NSG

just finished my latest edit with final cut. The thing is pretty damn big-1.2 gb which is way bigger than my vimeo size max which is 500 mb. What sites have a high limit/no limit on file size?

Vimeo is largest size I know of, just cut it in to 3 parts and post.

No. Compress it. Either from your video editor or with quicktime/compressor. If you don't know what im talking about then do some research, you cant just export a full quality video and expect to upload it online.

Get mpeg streamclip and toss it in a h264 container. That should help out a ton. My last edit was around 250mb which is on the massive side of the spectrum. You should shoot for like 100mb or so.

wait call me retarded, im just getting into editing/working with clips, will compressing it reduce the quality??

Or he could just compress out of FCP...

My last edit (720p24pn) went from 900mb to 50mb, epic.

Oh, FCP would be nifty. I'm using vegas, so I don't have that container as an option.

marginally. not noticable over streaming. h.264 and limit your bitrate to somewhere around 5000 kbps, maybe a little more if its a shorter video
