View on helmets

I have won 2 helmets, a black leedom, and a red giro 9, so yes I wear them

i wear the giro 9 all the time. It is worth it. Plus you can plug your sponsors with stickers on them, and it is just safer. I dont care how good you are, wear your helmet cuz it only takes one crash to end it all.

Why not, its not a big deal, and it could save your life.

hey head bobbing is gonna make you lose alot of points. but i wear mine all the time anyway, some of my friends say i look gay but last yeah i aired into a tree and got knocked out, if i didnt have my helmet i would have been in big trouble.

If you want to drink that freezing beer after giving it all... no jokes with your head! I look like a stupid, but i prefer that rather than being ko for the rest of my life...

I fell off a cliff last season and landed only inches away from a band of rocks. I didn't wear a helmet then but from now on I will. Also get back protection. I have been wearing it and it's served me well.

Be Strong, Be Wrong.

I've concussed myself 9 times. The worst time was when a ski hit me on the back of my head and I had tunnel vision, vomiting and numb extremities which was not nice. If you ski a lot then you are spending more time on the snow and are therefore a) probabalistically more likely to have an accident because of the time on the snow, b)likely to accelerate your learning to a point where the risks you take expose you to potentially more dangerous situations.

The upshot is to always where a helmet and not just when it's cold

Yeah i definitely wear a helmet because someone from my school died on a ski trip a few years ago.

ya wear a helmet i have a burton red and it looks pretty sweet. ive hit it pretty hard a few times and im not sure id be here without it

i don't really wear my helmet anymore... i wear it the odd day and for comeptitions, but that's it.

i wear back protection all the time, but not really a helmet, unless going to do somthing stupid.....or in comps where you have to...

same here, i wear it for comps and days when im trying things im not comfy with

THE SPRINKLER: get butt naked and then do a 1260 while taking a piss, i expect this trick to win many comps this coming season.

i where one when i am trying shit, but other times, when filming or taking pictures i don't. i probably should, but most of the time you won't get the recognition ou deserve wearing a helmet it in a pic. espically if your looking for a sponsor. but it is good to wear them when trying new things or in a dangerous situation.

After two concussions, a helmet just comes pretty naturally. Although both injuries i got from playin hockey, ironicallt, i was wearing a helmet at the time. now i gotta wear a mouth guard too when im ridin park and pipe, so my jaw stays in place if I bail hard

I don't like wearing it, but because I hve already hit my head I continue to wear it

Yep. I wear one most of the time...it's the only smart thing to do when you have the option.

But a helmet isn't going to keep you from breaking your neck or crushing vertebrae...and if you hit your head REALLY hard the helmet isn't going to help because even though the helmet protects the outside of your head and absorbs SOME of the impact, what's to keep your brain from slamming against the inside of your skull and hurting/killing you anyway?

just a thought.

but yeah, it's the best option.

A helmet won't save you from everything. it will help with a lot of things. just because you own a helmet doesn't mean that you are invinsible. if you hit your head it will still probably hurt. don't do things you wouldn't try if you didn't have a helmet on.

I wear a helmet in the park and backcountry. They are alright, just make sure you get a comfortable one. It saved my friends life!!!!

i heard about some guy who was waring a helmet and over rotated on a 1080 and hit his head on the snow. his brain suffered damage as a result of hitting his skull on impact. he had intense therapy and can barley talk and move now, but he would be alot worse if he didnt wear a helmet. and so yeah, um, i waer a helmet..... sometimes. ok. bye

I agree with JATS101. Personal preference, but it did save my life last year when I fell off a cliff in bounds at Baker!

what the hell heavymeatal.. youre not going to get any less sponsors because you wear a helmet, i myself try to wear one all the time last year at whistler i was coming out of the bottom of a bowl and started straightlining but it was flat light, like it always is at whistler, and i hit a chunk of ice did half a lincoln loop right onto my head or thats what my friends say i dont remember. I had a helmet on that day and i still cant remember the previous week or flying on the plane to whistler at all, im not sure what would have happened if i didnt have one on it wouldnt be good. You wouldnt go mtn biking without a helmet so why would you go skiing where you go alot faster without one

I wear mine all the time and it has saved me. But an interesting fact a guy told me at a ski shop is all the helmets now are single impact helmets. He said if you take one good shot it will protect you but after that the foam in the helmet compacts and is as good as nothing. I thought I would just pass this to everyone whos taken a good shot to a helmet

Is it cheating if the girl is from another country?

Some one please help !!!

Ski helmets are like most other helmets other then hockey helmets. Hockey helmets are the only ones i know that are multiple impact. Riding, dirt bike, Snowmobile, are all single impact helmets. Even if it falls off a table or a shelf that alone can ruin your helmet and increase ur risk of injury.

I personally find it really hard to teach with a helmet on cause i cant hear my kids. And when running gates with my coach im always taking it off so that i can hear.

I MAKE my kids wear it if they have one. Ive sent letters home to the parents asking them to supply a helmet and if my kids wanna ride any park they have to wear one and if i catch them without i kick them outta the park.

I need to find a nice comfy helmet. I had a Leedom that was alright but not very comfy!

helmets look good on you. it gives you confidence. my ski posse and i were up in the mt. st. helens wilderness last year in some of the more heavily wooded area. there was a small sapling off a ways from the landing and a branch 20 feet from the jump. well, i ended up hitting the branch, shattering my goggle lens, ended up over rotating the backflip and landing on the sapling on the back of my head. it still hurt like hell with the helmet on. got back up and stomped a rodeo next pass.

helmets are a smart idea. just like life jackets for wakeboarders. a fall on your back from 15-20 feet up on water kills.

Just Huck It.

Are you stalking me? because that would be super.

My only problem with wearing a helmet is that mine covers alot of my head making turning my head kinda hard during rotations... or so I remember...

My helmet saved my head last season when I tumbled down a steep chute and smacked my head against a rock. I always wear it its a nice warm hat that looks pretty swish too.

Freshies for a week after a dump? Temple Basin - Hell Yeah!

last season i did some stupid shit where it was the end of the day and i was tired and i was skiing really fast and i fell turning and banged my head pretty hard, i cant remember how it happened

-Chris

skiing is fun

I dont really wear my helmet unless I'm trying to learn a new trick, or in competitions where I'm going balls-out. Or if its really cold, or at night when its super icey.

I wear one in the park...the only times i fuck up and i'm glad i had one is when i fuck up some stupid little thing that should have been easy. I didn't wear one skiing big mountain last year..i'm thinking about changing that though. I get helmet courage and try more when i'm wearing it.

why wouldn't you wear one? the new ones look cool and don't make you look stupid. i mean i don't wear mine on steeps or moguls but if i'm doin somethin really technical in the park, big mt., or skiercross i definatly do.

i watched my best friend huck a backflip off a 40ft'er in Alta Utah, perfect form and everything. when he landed he blew out of his left ski. he slid hundreds of feet and off a 50ft'er head first. i had to watch my best friend die, due to massive head trauma. it makes me sick to my to even think about it. lifes to short and all that shit to not wear one. he left a brother, his parents and me in a flash, and it sucks. wear a goddamn helmet. listen to me on this one.

Which helmets are the warmest/most comfortbale, and which provide best protection. I need to get a helmet this year, and just wondered which is best.

yup i always wear my helmet...i like mine a lot i have red skycap... its from when they first came out they dont make my color nemore i love it its light tan

Helmits are for un-confodent fuels, by not using a helmet makes me more consitent, and confident in my self, helments are for pussys

i have a giro sonic, and its really comfy except one thing... those damn plastic ear flaps, hurts like hell after a while.

dude serious look in the mags, nobody gets sponsored whearing a helmet, maybe a big mountain guy, but you never see a guy riding the park with a helmet on in a photo unless it is a comp or something. and to the guy that said helmets are only single impact. your right, but if you hit your head hard, you can usually write the company cause they usually have a system set up where they will replace your elmet for like 30 bucks. which is good, because spending 150 bucks on a helmet to have it get ruined after on hit is pretty weak.

i disagree. u should definetely wear a helmet. the only reason they dont wear them is cause they're awesome and they hardley fall. plus they think wearing it makes u look not cool. more and more people r wearing them now. plus u can put stickers and crap over them which is awesome. they can save ur life, not to mention save u a crapload of pain

wear a helmet

yeah i almost lost a friend a couple years ago cause he wasnt wearing a helmet at keystone...he coughed up alot of blood and then blacked out, we thought he was dead, but thankfully he made it somehow. anyways now my friends and i always wear helmets.

Giggles... That's fine. You go right ahead and don't wear a helmet. I'm not going to care less when you smack your head on an ice cookie.

I don't give a shit about your mom, your dad, your mates. I mean when they start crying at your funeral. hahah what pussies. I mean who cries at funerals? Especially at the funeral of such a hard guy.

yea.

In the meantime I'll be getting freshies, and my head will be nice and warm, wrapped up in foam and plastic.

What gravity?

yeah helmets offer a safety net, which is good in that it protects you and its good in that it allows you to grow some larger gonads when debating a larger kicker.
