Vietnam war

I think it was bad. I mean they didnt even have WMDs. But then again they were killing millions of Jews so idk

It was a failed attempt to bring democracy to a nation in turmoil and under a communist takeover. I don't think it was neccesarily bad that we tried to help them but since most of our nation disapproved of the conflict it has been viewed as a military and political failure since.

Only if he thinks that was the sole purpose. It was to prevent the spread of communism which overall is a generally good thing

right, well, "good" or "bad" opinions aside, it was a proxy war and we did some real naughty shit to get it going. anyone who thinks we went in with no ulterior motives beyond "helping them out" probably also thinks we went into iraq to bless them with freedom and democracy and nothing more

Obviously it wasn't the sole purpose but I think most people associate the war with thwarting communism since that's what a majority of it was about.

if I remember right, Muhammad Ali won that war by TKO after 8 rounds at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas after Ho Chi Minh personally challenged him by dropping an n-bomb.

Though I might be confusing it with something else.

named after the stream of blood that came from Ali's right cheek after a ferocious left hook in the 4th round. Many thought it was a decisive turning point in the war, but Ali stuck through it.

Ehh not really. We lost a little over 58,000 soldiers. The lowest estimate for total dead/missing from the North is 400,000. The upper estimate is over a million.
