Videos that convert park skier into backcountry

One of my friends does not like watching backcountry very much, and they love watching park. They have also never skied backcountry, so from the stuff they have seen in movies, they don't really feel like it would be that fun.
Post and embed some insane segments that show a park skier how insane backcountry is and make them want to ski backcountry and powder instead of park all their life!

Thanks

seth in focused. actually seth in just about anything will do, watching him makes me wanna shred huge lines so bad.

read my mind bro,

seth is so sick. but, he rips big mountain and most of your friends arn't gonna have access to a heli like morrison does.

my fav skier to watch in backcountry, powder, and trees is pollard. that dude makes it look effortless and he has such sick style!!!!

anything by sethand the jh pow scene from anomaly, i'm grinning ear to ear after watching this

I think I might be one of those ppl

I mean I have none of this 'powder' where I live - It's only park and ice up here.

It must be fun and all, but I just dont get to stoked when I see ppl in waist deep pow cause I've never really been there eh?

i used to think that way too.

but I came to the realization that cornices and trees and pillows and cliffs is what skiing is all about. Sure, pollard isn't doing double flips, but to see him slash a sick pillow line or a some crazy feature from Hunting Yeti just gets me so pumped....

it's just a mind frame....

what you need to do is take them out in the backcountry. they won't appreciate the pow until they float it.

get them to watch marc abma... any segment of his really. he usually is killing it everywhere, so they could get tricked into enjoying watching him drop crazy lines in between pipe and jump shots... they're be stoked without realizing it

there is one absulutely absurd cork 7 in there.

i think i might go buy believe now.

show this kid the slamina trailer and henrik does a sick spin in the b/c

This is the best vid IMO for back country shiti really think that this is the way skiing BC skiing needs to go, shredding powder is fun n all but buttering pillows and riding switch in snow is way way funner

I'm kinda like your friend i guess... But i really like to watch people hitting BC booters and stuff, but plain skiing in powder and going down incredible steep hills isn't really that exciting to me. I'm sure it's amazingly fun to do, but i'd rather watch someone slaying a jump.

yup i have a friend that is the exact same. i would just say force him into the BC with you and make him shred pow... its like a drug he wont go back after that

Make sure you're showing him footage of people who ride bc the most. Freestyle backcountry is probably something he'll be able to relate to. Make him watch a Nimbus Independent webisode and make sure Pollard is in the majority of it. These guys dedicate their whole year to freestyle backcountry. Yeah Tanner hall is good but his tricks are pretty standard for backcountry and he's not nearly as smooth or innovative as any of the Nimbus guys are. I think he'll get a boner when he sees an epic Pollard pillow line or switch shredding all the way down the mountain. I've changed my mind, make him watch all of IDEA.

I HATE WATCHING BACK COUNTRY SEGS so boring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! park is sick im just no a bc kina person but everyon has their own opinion bc is boring it is repetative NO OFFENCE!!

Watch the last scene in 44 days where Tim is skiing switch in pow. Its the sickest angle ever and it captures the while experience so well. Check it out.

If your buddy is an east coast skier, it is mainly the feeling of detachment because it is so unachievable and unrelated to what he has.

I used to not be a powder segment fan, but the Meatheads changed me with their segments ripping EC powder, and now I love a good powder flick.

I'm still not much a big-mountain heli-line fan though.

i really dont find bc vids amusing. I love skiing in powder and some times i think its better to ski than park but in videos me personally, i like park way better. It is just way more action and way more intense. In bc its like no tricks (usually) just guys skiing in powder over their heads. Yes its amazingly fun but not interessting for me to watch...but thats just my opinion.

But i can see what you guys mean from both sides. I can see how you like bc and i know how its possible to love park vids. Its all opinion i dont believe there is any video out there that will change a persons views completely.

I can see people liking park or pipe over backcountry but there's no way you can call it boring. In Wisconsin where I live we get like 150 in a year and there's still way more lines in the trees than in the park. That being said, when you go out west the whole fucking mountain is a park. There's just way, way, way too many pillows and spines and bumps and cliffs that you would have a hard time duplicating the same run if you tried and throw that in with varying snow conditions there's just no way you can call backcountry boring.

Maybe he just doesn't have any interest in skiing pow and likes hitting jumps all day? Is there anything wrong with that?
