Don't take it for granted

Follow your dream. I considered photography when I was applying to universities. I decided not to for the reasons you're wondering about now and did Computer Science instead. I'm at the end of a four year course now and hating it. In fact, it's come full circle and I'm really getting into photography more now, even considering photography courses after I ski a few seasons. If you want to do it enough, you'll find work.

yea go for your dream i have the same dream there is work out there you just have to know where to look. and this bussness is all about who you know sucks but thats how it is. so get out there and meet people.

what school are you looking at

well if you wanna do it, go for it, but stuff costs money, and you wont have any if you're in the media bizz. you'll find work no doubt, but will you make money is the real question. ONLY POOR PEOPLE SAY MONEY ISN'T EVERYTHING.

you dont need a film/photog degree to go into the business. as long as you have talen, no what you are doing better than others, and can produce great work, thats all many places need. im getting a degree in business but i have and want to continue to work in the media business. its all about connections and and talent. i've learned basically everything i know through connections and from teaching myself through books. i've had no formal training but at 17 I was being hired at $45 dollars an hour to work in production and if i can do it anyone can. and fuck the guy who says that only poor people say money isnt everything. for many its a wavy career but if you are good at what you do then you will get work. there was no need for that retarded plug

****POWER TO THE PEACEFUL****

^yeah dude, that's what i said. I said that he will be able to find work, but the real question he should ask himself is will he make any money? And yes, as sad as it may be; only poor people say money isn't everything.

'i just rented good will hunting , how is it?'

'lets put it this way, even matt damon cant make it suck.'

'matt damon? hes in con air right?'

'yes , yes he is.'

You will for sure find it hard to get work in the beginning. Just shoot as much as you can while working odd jobs or some kind of part time shitty job if you have to, and build a portfolio and build your skills and experience up.

It's all about experience.

Talk to other professionals in your area about being an assistant or something. You'll learn tons from them, and possibly even take work from them down the road.
