video problems

ive had this problem ever since i got my new computer, a dell 8550 or something. anyways every time i try to watch a video that is done in WMV format the media player does its normal thing with the screen up, but shows a black screen and sound. and about a third of the videos in there are done in WMV. any help would b great.

shit now some of the ones in WMV work and some dont. i'm clueless but if anyone's had this problem can you pleeez fill me in.

are you downloading it or viewing it off the site? try downloading it to your computer, and if it doesnt work, download it anyways to save bandwidth

hey midwest, I have had similar problems. Usually,that is due to not having the right codex file for your winamp. Codex pretty much is a translator (i guess you could call it) between some types of media. I can't remember the site unfortunately to get those from...but search around for codex d/l
