Video of cliffjump record!

dude pointed it!

i can see how he could get lost on the upper part of his line, didnt look like there were any landmarks for direction.

Dude........ that was insane. That crushes Jamie Pieres record, like it crushes it that was over 350 feet if it was actually as big as they say. To bad you can't even tell cause they fucked the shot up haha

it´s not stupidity, he just forgot his line.. shit happens. He got lucky as hell.. Anyways, awesome drop..:P The worst part is that after he got digged up he drove on his own skis down to the chopper again:P

hey maybe he has a point, he does ski away most of the time, this clown just forgot where he was going, and needed to be dug out, imo no record.

except of course the circumstances specific to the record such as height, and whether he survived cause that seems to be how jamie pierre got it.

Jamie had to be dug out to. Why does it matter that he didn't mean to go off the cliff? The fact is he did, so imo, he should get the record.

No balls and no skill? Did you see how fast he skiied that line? He was absolutely trucking nuts. He had mad skill and probably had to react super fast to prevent himself from dying.

btw what happened to the multiple camera angles? this footage was less than great. Are they saving it for a movie release or something or is this all the footy that exists?

Yeah but eventually you stop accelerating, because of air resistance. Eventually, at a certain speed, the height wouldn't matter, because you would hit the ground with the same force.

I was wondering that too and I think it might be because from below, they were not expecting him to go off that cliff. Who knows though, maybe they are saving it for a movie.

And to the guy asking if it would be the same force no matter what height: you are right but this cliff is not high enough. I had to look it up but the height to reach terminal velocity is over 500m (source:http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=124248). So, once someone hucks a 500m cliff, the would be able to huck anything.

He wasn't supposed to go that way but there was rumor of there being 3 camera angles of the cliff drop.

I read an article that says he doesn't want the record, because it was an accident. but what I don't get is where was he going? I don't see any line that doesn't lead to a death drop on the angle he was taking even if he went another 100 feet further down the line it would've been a ridiculous drop.

In order to not die , after flying off a cliff you didn't mean to hit it takes allot of balls and skill to put your feet down and stay alive. He had split seconds to go over it in his head and put it together , that is why he is still alive. Jamie pierre scoped his line for days, days! then ski'd 50 feet and jumped then landed on his HEAD ,HE LANDED ON HIS HEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HEAD ... this guy was allready doing 45 MPH and he stayed alive, Mountains and mountains of respect from me, maybe if some of you get out of the park you will understand.

and honestly, IMO it is the record. While you can't see the landing in the video, this guy was in much better control that Pierre who just basically went off and landing on his head.

I just can't even imagine going off that going that fast.

50 feet?Jamie poled in from like 10 feet away. Jamie is a tool. There's that one video on youtube where he hucks like a 160 footer, and it shows him probing for rocks before he hits it, and then when he hits it, he lands on rock. I'm not sure what goes through the dudes head.

that was ridiculous, that guy was booking down the hill, the little powderslash he did on the ridge was sick
