Just curious as to what people are using, hardware, software, camera, etc... I myself have been using a P3 1ghz/512M with Mediastudio Pro 6.5, and a shitty sony 8mm camcorder.

P4 1.7 GHz, 512 RAM, Premeir 6.0, and a crappy Sony digital 8 Camera.
This summer I am upgrading to a P4 3.0 GHz (with 800 MHz bus & Hyperthreading), new motherboard, 1 Gig of DDR400 ram, and a Sony DVD burner. I would also like get Adobe Encore DVD for DVD authoring when that comes out ($550, ouch).
It's nice to be a D.I.N.K.

triple xeon, dual 19'tft, quadro4, 200gb collective, dvdr, 1gb ram
its primarily used for 3d animation and rendering but it rocks for vid work and compositing

you can run one, or two, or four. I am pretty sure you can't run three unless you are using a rack mounted server for video editing in which it's not yours and it's really your schools/company's.

I'm getting a whole new mac rig from a friend dirt cheap, hopefully soon. He can even give me the hookup on the software.
