Video converter that works

I need a free program that actually converts .avi files into .WMV files. I have used the searchbar, and google, and every program I download says i have to register, or it says it converts it, and the file doesn't work. Can someone tell me what converter they use. It has to be free, and not show some words in the corner after it works. All i want is for my Zune to actually have videos on it that actually work.

that says that it will make a wetermark on the screen, but i will try it.

See if Videora has one. Their iPod converter is slow, but works really well.

^ it has to be to WMV, because the zune doesn't work with any other type right now, and the other one had lots of writing right in the middle of the screen.

try jodix...its free and converts anything into ipod compatible format, if thats what you want.

Just an idea, sorenson squeeze works amazing. It may take a while to get teh software for free. I used like three torrents and finally got it.

Why? It works really well for me. And it converts just about any type of video to .m4v, .mp4, .avi, and 2 others. It also have video formats for every major electronic device
