i have a sony trv-950 but it was recently broken by a friend and i am looking to replace it. Would you recomend the cannon gl2 or panasonic ag-dvc30? which is better?

i am leaning towards the gl2, i like the way it looks. i know thats not a good criteria to go by, but the way the handle and everything looks more smooth.

hmmmmm....tough decision, I wish I was a moneybags.

my friends tell me the panasonic is better quality but he gl2 looks so much smoother, def for follow cams.

I have a GL2 and it is definatly an awsome camera.

Panasonic, however, is known to have the best video cameras though.(specifically colors)

I can't say how good the DVC-30 is though, for I have never used it. all I know is that the GL2 rocks.

im choosing between the same cameras. correct me if im wrong, but the panasonic has better quality? but how well does the handle on it compare to the gl2? cause i need a decent handle for follow cams and such

thats what i got, its fucking sick. i just got it in the mail a few days ago. definitly a great decision.

You shouldn't base your entire camera descision upon which is better for follow cams though...as you progress in cinematography you will realize that they aren't everything.

^word u gotta switch it up between long-lens, front/back follows, crane shots, standing fisheye etc
