Video Camera

Well I apologize if i'm being stupid, but i tried the searchbar and i didn't find anything.

After watching some of Will Start's work, i've decided i want to get into some filming.

I don't just want to get a recommended camera for a price range, i want to know what i should look for. For instance, is there a big difference between 1920 × 1080 resolution and 1280 × 720? will 60 fps be much better? what is hd versus standard definition? what is macro mode and what difference does it make?

when i understand some of these things i might be able to ask for a specific camera :P

I apologize if this is in the wrong place or if there is a previous similar thread.

any help is appreciated

Okay. Im not going to SEARCHBARRRRRR!!11!!!!!111 you but there are other threads out there im sure.

difference between 1080 and 720 is the size of the image. 1080 is higher quality because it is larger.( im probably wrong) but 1080 is higher quality than 720

60 frames per second gives you really smooth slow motion. the standard is either 24 fps or 30 fps.

and HD is worth it.

answer your questions?

yeah thanks a lot :P

i don't know i searchbar'd it but i didn't find what i was looking for. Either way, thanks for the help

just go to your local best buy and ask some questions. they are quite knowlegeable able and have helped me in the past, and they aren't on commission so they dont care that your wasting your time if your not committed to buy a camera yet. i have a hf20, and im pretty happy with it. takes good video and fits in a pocket of my ski jacket.
