anyone know the best video camera i could get for around $800?? probably gonna have to go used so i can save some money, but anyone got any ideas?? definately trying to go high def, even though i know that'll be hard to do with the amount of money i have. might be able to go up to 1000, but i doubt it. thanks to anyone that can help...

has anyone reading this ever used the hv20 skiing or for any other stuff involving a lot of motion?? if so, how is it? and do you have footage by any chance?

^fujative 09090 has some videos with it and knows a lot about the camera, you can adjust the shutter speeds so fast moving skiers will look fine.

ive got a Sony TRV900, 3ccd camera, for around $800 USD

ya, iv used it for other stuff, not for skiing yet though. but it will be fine, so many different options for shutter speeds. and the only time you will have to be worried about alot of motion is if you are shooting 24p or slow shutter speeds (like anything under 30, but you shouldnt be doing that anyway for skiing at least). if you want the video i made using it, just PM me and ill send you the link
