Vicious

What length are you on? Somewhere between +3 and +5 is probably the best spot.

I got my madens at 3, thats what i would go with, unless you skis switch alot then i would go with plus 5.

I have the 189 mounted +4.

I wouldn't go any more forward. They tip dive a bit. They are great everywhere. I love them a lot.

at 3 you have a lot of nose, which i like because these are my pow only ski and dont ski switch very often. dont know about 5 though.

it depends how big you are. if its over your head go between +4 and +5. still good all mtn too. and pow

K2 has the least progressive mounting recommendations of any twin tip. The furthest foward option on the K2 chart is like +7.5 from traditional and that's still further back than the Armada recomendation and 4FRNTs Freeride line. Where K2 leaves off everyone else starts so I would never let anyone even remotely newschool ever mount their k2's behind core center.

i have my maidens mounted at +5 and they are awsome, i got to ski them in like a foot of pow and you can like lean forward while skiing and still they dont dive, and its good for rails and stuff. but it feels so wierd not having that much tail when your used to center mounted skis, but i guess its still quite a bit of tail.

i think next year im gonna get them mounted true center just to be a badass.

Seth actually said on the K2 factory team website that the mounting scale on the sides of the skis are off by about 2 cm. If you mount on the recommended point, you are really -2....mount em up at +2 and you are around the traditional mount. I have my PE's at +5 which I guess is more like +3.

do remember that morrision is a tiny guy. 5'10" 150. For him, +5 works.

I know I wouldn't want mine any more forward than +4. Even at +4 I noticed some tip dive.

Vicious had the same experience. He originally mounted +5, skied it and thought it was way too far foward. He remounted +3 and thinks it is $$$$.

So, take into consideration how big you are.

yeah that is correct.

+2 = real midsole.

+9.5 = true core center

+14 = true center

but when people talk about it they go off the scale on the ski, not what it actually turned out to be, so don't worry about it.

And he rides 189's.

I have 179 Vicious' mounted at +5. They feel like they have a lot of tail. But I wanted them mounted somewhat forward because they will be my everyday ski, not just a powder stick.

I've only skied them once, and I never got the chance to ski any real powder with them, so I can't comment on tip dive.

which is why he can get away skiing them at +5. People who are bigger and are looking for decent float are gonna think +5 is too far foward, even on the 189.

You also have to remember the core profile of the 189 is about twice as thick as the 179, so the 189 skis much stiffer than the 179.

Like I said, my 189 are mounted +4 and I wouldn't want to be any more foward. They float ok, do great everywhere else. They aren't my pow skis, so I really dont care too much.

I have my 179 SP mounted +6..and they suck in pow. just not enough tip to float well and really be stable.

well if your just using them for pow and like nothing else then id say like +2 or 3 but if you plan on going in the park, and other stuff +5 is perfect, for maidens atleast, but id guess the vicious is pretty close.
