VERTICAL CHALLENGE: STEVENS PASS

So this weekend at stevens, the American Cancer Society is having their second Vertical Challenge to raise money for cancer research and awareness. Basically, you ski as much as you can from 10 am saturday to 10 am sunday. They have a few lifts open all night (hogs and skyline im assuming), so you obviously keep skiing. You get a tracker that keeps track of how many runs you do and adds your vertical feet to your team's total. If you register as an individual, you can't get a tracker, so I'm trying to see if there are some people interested in participating. The team fee is $150, (which we would split) and i don't believe there is a limit to how many people. The trackers are $35 for adults and $22 for youths. It would be sick to get a NS team up there to dominate all night. The draw is definatley skiing all night, but it would be awesome to try and get as much in donations as posisble. If anyone is interested, just post here or shoot me a pm. I know it's kinda late notice, but I know some people wanna do it!

I did this at White Pass a few years ago and it was soo much fun, come on people!

i think it depends on the sponsors...im not exactly sure

and kevy- it does not include a ticket, although i believe there is a discounted price for people doing it

Big chief is what is running through the night. Im gonna do it if anybody wants a partner/team member

originally i thought you couldn't get a vertical tracker as an individual, which is actually not true. that means that if everyone interested registered individually, it's only 35 bucks compared with 35 + the team fee. unless there are more than 5 people interested, i think going individual makes more financial sense for most of us. any thoughts?

Shit, that would be so much fun, but I have to teach down in kent that Sunday. I've always wanted to do one of these things, dammit. Good luck to whoever goes!

haha, jea. and thanks for the motivational call. soo i ended up skiing from 9am to 10pm with only a half hour break, skiing a total of 19-20 hours, did probably 75 runs, and ended up winning!! this is actually the first ski "comp" i've ever won, and im pretty stoked on it. i am gonna go to bed around 7 though, i did not sleep very much...

they are sending the exact vertical feet out htis week, although they said they had enough info to know who won. i got a $20 starbucks card, a backpack, a framed 1st place poster, and a gold medal. it was more about winning the title than the actual prizes though. ill post when i get the results for vert feet

I competed. All day and all night but I didnt ski on chief durring the day so my vert didnt count. I probably saw you, who were you?

i was on fujatives. had a black g10mx, smith goggles. i had all my stuff on the table next to the door of that hangout room....what team were you on?

No team, compeated as an Idividual. but didnt really compete skied the back side all day and managed not to sleep once while going all night. I was on the squads.

hmmm, im sure i saw you. yaa, it would be sick if they had trackers on all the lifts. that would make it more interesting for sure

i finally found out the totals, and i got just about 60,000 vertical feet. a little less than i htought, but not too sure how accurate that data is though
