im hitting up VT this winter. driving from michigan. what are the best resorts that are within 30 minutes of each other. park and long runs are the main things im looking for. anythings better than the midwest and i dont have the time or money to drive out west this winter. so where shoudl i go?

okemo has the best park in vt and 25 min from there is killington wich is the bigestr resort on the east coast with 200 trails so they have alot of good stuff and sugarbush is good to thats about 50 min from killington

well there are plenty of cheep places and the snow will most likely be ok the cause last year we got dumped on early

killington's park sucks dick compared to other resorts, but they have probably the most/best terrain in southern vermont.

hit up mount snow, stratton, and okemo.

 
kilingtons park SUCKED dick. NOW they're getting a new park & pipe. now rosie will be able to actually do something without all the beginners being on the same trail. they also got a shitload of new steel for rails. i see good things happening at killington this winter.

Killington will be off the hook this year, the thing that dragged it down was beign on Snowshed. But now it's back where it used to be a long time ago and it was sick there. You should all check it out.

Get pickled at the Pickle Barrel and Wobbely at the Wobbely Barn. Big K Apres Ski

 
It will be over on Bear, not sure what trail but proably Bear Claw or something. Either way you wont have to worry about lack of speed on any of the traisl at Bear.

u wanna hit nice jumps, go to mount snow or stratton

u want sick rails with the best pipe in the east, Okemos where u wanna be at...plus their gonna revamp their jumps this year, so its possible its gonna be the total package

if your going with some friends near Stowe and Jay Peak there is a youth hostil called the round hearth that was pretty decent for a small price, free breakfast and supper, decent game room with pool tables air hockey and 2 beauty outdoor hottubs...just a caution if you go there bring your own pillow theirs sucks.

Prime parks/rails/scene: Mount Snow

Quantity of parks: Stratton(unfortunately also rediculously exspensive/snob mtn)...

Pipe: Okemo

Killy kind of sucks.

 
There are parks in the midwest, go to vermont to actually ski. I think you would have the best time at smuggs/stowe and maybe even sugarbush. Those three mountains so much better terrain than the mountains mentioned, and their parks are nothing to laugh at.

okemo had the best rails and pipe. go to mt snow if you wanna hit good jumps but theres nothing special at all about mt snows rails

kmarts park will still suck no matter what which mtn area its on, why u ask? cause American skiing corporation is extemely in debt. look at the value of there stock. they have no liquid funds to work with so they are sticking with what they got... aka shit. okemo has by far the best pipe in new england. and there park and rails have been improving two fold each year. Look at Okemo for the best in the east. Specially if your talking early season skiing or if the winter shits out and there is no snow, okemo is the only place to be. there snow making and gromming are untouchable. hell they even gromm/make the moguls for us....

^^You obviously failed to recognize that Mt Snow, Sunday River, and Sugarloaf are all owned by ASC. It is pretty safe to say that these mountains have somewhat decent parks. It doesn't take that much money to build a good park, compared to the millions of dollars they drop on running a chairlift ad blowing snow.

 
it does take a lot of there budget to blow the snow necessary to open a good park early in the season. also sunday river is asc flagship resort, so there budget is larger then other asc resorts. Les Otten, a former killing resort janitor, who worked his way up to where he is now(ceo or asc)which is a long and sad story for killington, (granted his lack of knowledge in the commercail real eatate field, and his over extension while prices were at there peek, led to his downfall). and if you look at the value of asc, you will realize, and so do all the analyst on wall street that asc is a mismanged company that has no working capital. end of comversation. call up your broker and ask him what he thinks of asc, he'll tell its a dog, with flees and to stay as far as u can from it.

 
Ya no shit Les Otten ruined Killington, he is more focused on the real estate side of things than what really is important. Plus he went out an co-purchased the Red Sox, this really shows how set his mind is on ownign a ski resort company. What I am tryign to say is that there should be no reason Killington doesn't have the money to make improvements. Killington brings in a large portion of the money that ASC sees but it doesnt recieve much of any of it to improve their own mountain. It's just fucked up how ASC works. It's too bad Killington got bought buy them, used to be so much better with the old owner.

 
why go to VT if your that far away and you prolly have to pay a lot of money to come here why not pay the money to go to colorado, utah, etc

bwbski is a dumb ass less ddint ruin kilington and he hasnt had anything to do with the moutain for over 3 years alredy and killington is the only resort wich makes asc it money so killington can get what ever money the want, considering the just got a new zaug i dont think there exactly i need of money in the park and pipe opertaions and it dosnt take any money to move your park from one trail to another so your a fucking dumb ass

the killington park is probably gonna be from middle dreammaker and then continue to the trail between lower dreammaker and lower bear claw. that's where the skier x use to be so it only makes sense to put it there. also i got a letter from killington that they're setting up some jibs and a couple of jumps at the bottom of devil's fiddle so u gotta take the crossover from outer limits over to it.

or u could just ski fidle considering its the sickest official trail on killington and the crosover dont get u to fidle it gets u to the botom of it
