Vermont Mountains?

Hey, I'm planning a trip to Vermont and I was just wondering what mountain would be the best for me to go to. I'd like to try some back country (if it exists in Vermont? I have no idea, I've never been there) and a mountain with a good park/parks. Any help would be awesome.

If you want backcountry and good inbounds terrain head to Northern Vermont. Jay Peak, Stowe or MRG will all be good if you know where to go.

If you want park stay in Southern Vermont. Head to Stratton, Mt. Snow or Okemo.

Dope.

id say jay if you want all that, but if you can live without a park go to MRG for the best backcountry glades

JAY PEAK, in JAY VT is the mad notes, but if u want the backcountry then you should check out Cannon in NH, and ask someone how to get to mittersill (a mtn that closed 30 yrs ago, it has nasty glades and some open ungroomed runs).

Fuck tha police

mittersill is pretty dank but because the woods are so thick u cant ski the trees that well, but MRG has better outa bounds glades, and a few cliffs.

honestly I don't really think MGR is that much better than Jay in the woods/abckcountry department. I'd go to Jay some great inbounds woods (I assume out of bounds woods means nothing to you because you won't know where to go) I also hear Jay has a decent park, I haven't hit it,I've only been to Jay once this year, but they've been getting dumped on of late.

ummm yeah there isn't much backcountry in VT cept for jay.... for parks.... Mt. Snow is sick but their parks are too flat, can't really get enough speed sometimes... okemo's ok, they have the truth rail but its just overrated, stratton's good for the Vt open but not really great otherwise. Killington's ok, they had a much better park this year then in years before. Hopefully that helped you at all

ive been to every part of the state and sugarbush is by far the best, as far as it goes at least (none is very good)

welcome to the den of filth....

we ride only 9ths in the J squared

i would deffinately sugest stowe and jay too, i like them too just know sugarbush better

welcome to the den of filth....

we ride only 9ths in the J squared

okemos the best when it comes to not waiting in line for more that 2 min and getting in some good pow skiing if you know where on the mountain to go

High North Session 1&2

theres no competition to JAY, stowe, or MRG, all three of those are awsome for VT. if u really want some sweet back country, go over to NH and hit tucks

rrjames what are you talking about. okemo has mundo lines and its flat. i dunno where this good pow skiing is unless your talking about the power lines which is decent for east coast powder. but the lines suck

KEEP YOU'RE TIPS UP SKY......

okemo is pretty shitty when it comes to lines, you can sometimes avoid them, but its still shitty. the park is dec. but they have aboslutly no backcountry whatsoever. no mountain in southern vermont does. jay or mgr no doubt

MRG and Jay for backcountry, stowe has it too but you gots to know where to hike and what not. Try hooking up with some locals. Those of course are in the northern half of the state. Down south I would say killington for all around. I would suggest MRG or Jay, and MRG doesnt groom most of the trails or have snowboarders, so its a win win situation. Lots of cliffs, moguls and hidden powder runs. Peace.

Sugarbush is the shit but Jay has a lot of great glades and some backountry, but youd need someone who knows what they are doing

"Do you smell what im steppin in?"

I heard that people at sugarbush eat babies.

Money's clean cause we scrub it good. With guns and gasoline we're gonna save the world. Nothing's obscene if we only close our eyes, boys and girls, welcome to this Joyride. -dmb

go to jay........the snowfall is comparable to some mountains out west.

Also, before you go, hit up a bank and get some Canadian currency, you can use it at JAY and save money.
