Vermont is fucking beautiful.

most of my family is from vermont, and id really like to go to UVM but its mad cash, but i love it up there all seasons its so nice and i plan on living there one day its so rad!

there isn't shit to do in the summer????!?!?!? You're kidding right?

hiking

mtn biking

swimming

kayaking

fishing

canoeing

camping

bbq'ing

4wheeling (only if you have a rig to do it)

rock climbing

...and just plain chilling outside and enjoying nature

I absolutely love Vermont.

West is better overall, but I don't know if I could actually make the trip out west.

And I ma definitely looking forward to moving to Vermont next summer and calling it my home.

Big cities are very overrated, and there is way more for me to do than there is in the city anyways.

that's actually the reason i was driving up through vermont! i was at a campus tour this morning, beautiful campus...and i had to laugh because the tour leader took us to the aiken building and the paint was chipped on the handrails down the stairs, i was like ahhhhhh urban

i climbed mount mansfield(tallest in VT- stowe is on it0 three days ago- took the Long Trail- then summited and went down to the cliff trail- hopped on the gondola and went to dinner- pretty feakin sweet if you ask me

I love living in the ADKs, when ever people think of NY they never think of mountians and thousands of miles of wilderness

Same here, I go Vermonting every weekend . And dang, out of cider? And whoever said shoobie, you are so right. There will be so many bloody shoobies everywhere in about 1 1/2 months.

i wouldnt trade growing up here for anything...I have had so much fun all over this state doing all sorts of cool shit.

WORD! as much as i hate it sometimes, i think i would like to raise my kids here. It really makes me realize how much i take it for granted when im in mass or something and a kid sees me wearing a smuggs shirt and is like "OH MY GOD MAN ID KILL TO LIVE AT THAT MOUNTAIN!!!" and im like "uhh wow i feel bad i always complain cause i think its a shithole"

Agreed. If you want real beauty, both landscapes and people, you gotta be West Coast. Cascades, not so much people, but we get transplants from Cali to make up for that, and the geography around here is beyond epic.

ya the cascades are awesome but they dont beat vermont by much

i hope that worked

Exactly.

You can't really understand VT and how it really is its own country compared to the rest of the U.S. until you've lived there. I still think the best part about it is how locals really don't like flatlanders and the cops will tag anyone w/an out of state plate just for farting.

Duncan, We'll have to get togethre for some chill sessions next summer when I move to Rutland.

yayyyy! i live in vermont! yay for vermont!

and for the kid who compared VT to jersey, i laughed for a good minute.

"ill run you ova with ma fuckin hummah. but i gotta stop 10 times to fill up my gas tank. big tony will be on his way to picking up a hot slice in his brand fuckin new H2 and fuckin BAM. youll be knocked back to the jersey showa in no time! DEBRAH MAKE ME A FUCKIN SANDWICH!"

vermont is my favorite place in the world. check out my rope swing videos, and just look at this place...amazing. im moving there as soon as i get out of high schoool

Vermont is an awesome state. I really like it, i love outdoorsy stuff and all that good stuff. But come on, new jersey isn't that bad. You just have to know where to look for the good stuff. Both these pictures were taken in NJ this summer. Now obviously vermont is 100x better, but don't judge a place before you haven't even experienced it

every saturday for like 3 years wen i was little, we would drive from plattsburgh, NY down to St. Albans to go to this archery place, then we would stop in burlington on the way back. it was so sick. rural vermont is so sick. oh, and this was only in the winter, so rural vermont in the WINTER is sickest.

I haven't read the whole thread, but I'd have to agree that most places have beautiful sections if you know where to look. Jersey is no different.

Vermont just seems to have a higher percentage of beautiful places. Burlington is one of my favorite cities in the US, just such an amazing place. Most of New England is that way though, and hell NY is sweet as well, in the Adirondack region.

I don't know this is turning into a hippie "the world is a beautiful place, maaaaaaaan" thing so I'm just gonna leave it with Vermont is sweet.

yeeeah! I hate how people hate on nj. if you know where to go there are tons of nice places. sure a lot of northern nj is a shithole, like newarks constant murders which fucking sicken me, but the jersey shore is great. I love it here in the summer, and many towns are really nice and made it into that top 100 towns to live thing. the education in my area is pretty good too. if you get off the highway for a bit you will see what it's like, saying all of nj is smelly and disgusting is just stupid.

Going to smugg's this year with my high school it's gonna be sick.

Did VT get alot of snow last year?

its all relative...most people are unhappy with the place they grew up in just because they have grown sick of it over time. take me for example. i grew up in vermont and i need to go to the city for college. boston will be a nice change for me.
