Verizon Iphone!

I don't think I could live without internet and email on my phone these days. I used to think it was a gimmick until I got a phone with all that stuff. I have a Blackberry btw, and I'm completely happy with it. I've never even tried a droid/android phone. I might consider the iPhone when my plan runs out this July though.

I just looked on the FCC website, this iPhone is for sure going to suck far worse then the AT&T one. The signal strength for the Verizon iPhone only goes to 24db. That's one of the worse I have seen in many years. Good luck to Verizon.

No seriously. it won't run 4g when they release it, and youll have to wait untill next january untill the iphone 5 instead of this summer when atnT gets it

read some reviews on it, doesn't sound all that great. better service in most places, but just worse than the at&t one

7 and 8 are the only things the average consumer would really care about though. That's why both models sell so much stock. Personal preference with the basics is the big kicker, I doubt the average 40 year old gives a crap about customizing and open source software.
Do any of the new Android phones have better resolution by the way? Just curious, the best looking screen I've seen is the iPhone 4 but I would think someone else has matched it somewhere.

Exactly. In my opinion the iPhone's camera is one of the best phone/portable camera's ever. Fueled by a plethora of powerful and creative apps, it has become one of my favorite camera's to use.

true, i love my Droid X, but it doesn't run flawless. Sometimes it glitches and gets a little slow. Its small bugs like those that the Iphone just doesnt have (or my ipod for that matter).

buuuut, i'm keepin my droid x. Maybe i will get the iphone later on, but if it really doesnt run 4G you would be an idiot to buy the first generation of verizon iphones. they are just going to update it to one that does.

i think it comes down to this:

um yeah i dont feel like fixing that

so imagine a poster that says:

"douchebags gotta make calls too"

with a picture of an iphone

I really don't wanna sound like a dipshit, but how much will an iphone cost me if I'm eligible for an upgrade? I remember not paying anything when i upgraded from the Blackberry Storm to the Tour but i feel like I'm wrong and I'll have to pay 299 (for 32g).
can anyone help a finance major with this simple question about money?

You will pay 299, the price on apples website and verizons website are with a new 2 yr contract.

It says $199 for 16 GB and $299 for 32 GB with upgrade. Took about 20 seconds to search that with Google, are you really in college?

The iphone has tons of bugs. It may be better on the iphone 4, as I'm sure it is, but my Iphone 3g consistently had problems, like not being able to load simple application and not being able to turn on/off. It also took forever to turn off and on, I remember one time it took me 23 or so minutes just to turn off and on. My friend who has iphone seems to also get similar problems, it took him even longer to turn it off and on after it froze.

I understand that megapixels dont mean anything in terms of image quality, but unfortunately, most consumers in the US probably dont. They see that one phone has an advantage of 3 mp and think that thats better, so it is a relevant point IMO.

Wanna know what really sucks?

According to new Verizon training slides, the 1-year upgrade option that many of us have enjoyed for years is going away starting January 16th. Customers on 2-year contracts will now have to wait until the 20th month of their deal to even begin to think about upgrading. Talk about depressing. We live in a time when phones become almost obsolete just months after they are released and having to wait at least 20 months for the option to upgrade is a giant step in the wrong direction.

It should be noted that 1-year contracts are not affected, so that becomes option number 1 for those of us addicted to new technology. When your current contract is up, you might want to consider going with a 1 year plan and forking out the extra $50-100 on the phone or you’ll be stuck for 2 years. [Insert sad face]

20 months is less then I have been waiting so far. I have had my dare since it first came out. Patience is a virtue. lol

How many of you with android phones use them for 1/4 of the super secret l337 hax their capable of? None? Kcool

i do. my evo is rooted. i've flashed a custom rom, custom kernal, and custom radios. i don't have any buggy issues at all.
i can do more things with my evo than you can ever begin to imagine. i can access my webcam from my cellphone, or i can stash my cell phone and remotely turn on the camera from a computer and see what's going on. What's even scarier is that i can turn on your camera on your droid without you even knowing it. i can also do the same with your mic...yep, i can listen to everything you're saying and see everything in your cameras view and you wouldn't even know it. GPS disabled? No problem, I'll just turn that on from my pc and see where you are. these phones are fucking computers. it's scary and I love it.
tap my pc to stream movies that I have stored on my hard drive at home? no problem at all.
steaming video calls over my 4g network? sure! it's a little more convenient than having to be tied to wifi.
free wireless tethering so i can run my laptop through my phone while I cruise down the interstate....did i mention that it's free? yeah, that's kind of nice.
also, let's talk processors. new moto 4g droid coming with dual core ghz processor? smokin' fast. (not to sounds like a douche, but you probably don't even know anything about that yet.)
the iphone doesn't even run 4g at this point because of chip set issues? that's cute. i'd sure pay 300 for antiquated technology....right.
how about batteries that smart phones love to chew through? oh yeah, you can't change yours on your iphone so you are tied to a charger, or you have a dead phone while i just swap out for a second battery and get on with my day.
iphones were the shit 3 years ago when there was nothing comparable to them on the market, but that's not the case anymore.
you name it, i can do it with my HTC. I own an iphone as well and it just can't hang. plain and simple. have fun playing angry birds. oh wait, i can do that too.

i'll take an iphone anyday over my droid incredible.

don't get me wrong, i love my droid..but there is something with apple products that just draw me in..

who's gonna order one tonight?

i'll be picking up a 32gb. i'm due for an upgrade and my old blackberry curve is about 4 days away from completely dying. i think they'll sell out within a few hours so i'm gonna stay up
