Vegetarians

this thread made me want to go eat a steak

personally i could not survive without meat. meat is my way of fueling my active lifestyle. i try to intake about 200g of protein a day, and that would be next to impossible without eating meat

Woah, ease up there. I don't see anything wrong with his post. Just because you don't like tofu that doesn't mean that other people don't. I like tofu.

for those who are vegetarians because they are concerned about the over production of meat... you should know that our overproduction of vegetables and use of chemical fertilizers has a much worse effect on the environment, and if we keep it up all of our soil will be useless in 10-20 years

veggies and fish only. it's just way easier for me to eat healthily if i just don't allow myself to consider eating a cheeseburger or fried chicken.

i'm in the middle of training camp for football so i'm trying to keep my weight up

my main sources of protein are egg whites, cottage cheese, yogurt, chicken breasts, almonds/walnuts (or any other kind of nut), corn and bean salad. i'll eat 5-6 small meals a day to keep my metabolism working on overdrive.

yea you're supposed to have a gram of protein per pound of body weight when you're training, so if you weight 150 lbs you should eat 150 grams per day.

made the switch a couple months ago. i'm eating way healthier and can feel the difference for sure. the only time i regret it is when its cheesesteak or chicken finger day at our dining hall

I was a vegetarian for about 2 hours when I was like 14 or 15. Didn't like it one bit and went to Wendy's shortly after.

this thread and many others about vegetarians previously showcases how ignorant and dumb humans are, especially teenagers and little kids on this website.

i'm not vegg but my aunt/uncles fam is and i've had some pretty good veggi burgers. with them before. they don't beat the real thing but they weren't actually too bad and had some good spices in them.

call me crazy but i actually like veggie burgers a lot more than regular meat patties. part of what made it so easy to switch

in the words of denis leary

eating meat is an instinct, not eating meat is a decisoin, i tried going veggy i feel like a pussy, what would you like to order sir? Broccilli what the fuck. people broccili is a side dish always was always will be. when they ask what i want a tell them bring me a peice of raw red meat aw fuck it bring me the cow ill carve off the part i want and rid ethe rest home dum dadadum dadadum

You are right, red meat is not bad for you, at least in moderation. The problem is the amount of meat that Americans eat is WAY more then we should, and also that the actual red meat we eat is not the same red meat that our ancestors have been eating for tens of thousands of years. Read into how the vast majority of American meat is grown. It is flat out disgusting, and the quality of meat reflects that. Almost all cows are grown in closed feed lots, and cows are fed a diet that is mostly corn. This is not what cows are evolved to do. Long story short, they don't exercise, they eat the wrong foods, and the meat we eat is a product of it. It is high in saturated fat, high in toxins, and some practices are seriously disgusting. Don't get me wrong, I love meat, but feed lot beef is disgusting

You can say the exact same for fruits and vegetables. Some of the chemicals they pump into the ground and plants could kill you instantly. And dont give me that you can buy organic bullshit. Not everyone does that and i can just say you can buy organic meat from a local butcher. And like i said, the vast majority of foods isnt meat, its carbs coming from fruits and vegetables. Its not the burger patty thats making people fat, its the high sugary bun and condiments.

if i can cite the popular new 4bi9 burger...

i'm not sure the bun is the problem here. red meat can be good, but if you're going to use the example of burgers you pretty much would have to go through the trouble of making one yourself using extra lean beef. any restaurant burger patty is going to be loaded with fat and other shit

i sponsor every vegetarian i've ever met, because i like meat.

i'm not against vegetarians because by them not eating animals it means i get to sponsor them and eat three more animals, preferable something exotic or endangered.

what movie was it with mathew broderic and marlon brando where brando's character had that club where they ate endangered spaicies. i want to jion (even though they actually preparred chicken and served it as the animal.

I disagree. I think the amount of meat that we eat in this country and the chemical makeup of the meat plays a large role into obesity and other large health risks. The basic problem boils down to the following: food in the US is over-processed and has far too many unnatural compounds. Meat is no exception. The bun is not making people fat, its the combination of the huge quantities of high fructose corn syrup, the disgusting way feedlot meat is grown and processed, and the overall lack of cheap, fresh foods.
