Veganism is not healthy, though i'm not opposed to the principles behind it. But we need cetain nutrients. Veganisim is a bit like saying I want to live like a plant and live in Sunlight and CO2. Some organisms can do that(green plants) others cant.

For humans: Certain amino acids are only found in animal derived products. We need these. and cant sythesize these. No Soy or tofu can provide these.

If we were cows or other plant eating animals we wouldnt need these and could live on plants alone

 
yo, i'm a vegetarian, well not really i still eat vego cheese and drink milk but i think if you have the will power veganism is wicked. i just don't have the will.

Its a really cool idea and way to help out in a world full of shit. but then again your health is more important than anything else.

anyway there are people out there who are fruitatarians or breathatarians who only eat fruit fallen from trees and some people (apparently) only breath and drink water.

Its a way of life and a different upbringing and we have no right to judge or condemn.

My only real problem with vegans is that people think it's healthy, and although it can be healthy it's really hard to make sure you're getting a balanced diet. Becoming vegan is a decision that your physican should help you with, and not enough people see their doctors about it.

my vegan buddy tries to convince us that 'there's one drop of puss in every cup of milk', and all of the bacteria that grows in meat or whatever... i don't even know, but i do know that the benefits of a well balanced diet outweigh the negative effects these minor impurities have on our bodies.

There's nothing wrong with vegetarians, but it seems to me like being vegan is a) generally unhealthy and b) a gateway to a serious case of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).

There was a guy at my high school who started out as a vegan, but eventually he got so weird about it that he wouldn't even walk over the footsteps of people wearing leather shoes. Obviously this is a rare case, but seriously...

It just seems kind of pointless to me.

If people want to be vegetarians or vegans, so be it. To each their own. But don't try to spread you're propaganda about how unhealthy meat is. And being that I grew up on a farm, I've seen how cattle and other animals raised for slaughter are treated. For the most part they are not abused, because an animal thats under a lot stress will have poor weight gains and have poor meat quality. And thats counter productive to what farmers and butchers are trying to accomplish, and therefore doesn't make any sense.

My diet is going quite well this week. I feel great and I'm getting no sleep. I've had a lot more energy but I think it's only because my vegetarian diet was shitty and now I'm actually eating really well... I might stretch it another week for fun!

I personally think the idea of vegan is asinine (vegetarians to a lesser extent as well). Despite the "principles," you are only hurting yourself by depriving you body of necessary nutrients. But, I guess its a matter of what the individual values. Their life, their choice. Call me self centered, but I prize my personal health over a few cows.

so i watched a micheal moore movie a couple days ago (roger and me is what it's called) and this lady killed a rabbit with a pipe and skinned it. it was pretty horrific so i decided not to eat any meat that isnt farm raised like cattle.
