It would be a God Damn abomination if some teenaged prick with a negligible amount of steeze gets chosen before a legend like Corey Vanular.
I will have lost all hope for the future if the NS community thinks some tween like Gus Kenworthy is more capable of throwing down at JOSS than Corey Vanular.
 
Im not dissing on Vanular's skiing what soever because he fucking slays but his edit for joss is sub par compared to the others(camera work)...

Im not the only one who have said this, I think he should go to, but its based on an edit a person puts in. His edit is so poorly constructed (compared to the rest) it takes away from the skills he has imo.

i would rather base it on the skiing actually seen in the edit rather than "poor construction." Also, im actually not on his dick, i just think its ridiculous to see kids bitchin and moanin about the filming in an edit that is made to show the tricks that skier can do. if you cannot watch that edit and see the sick shit hes doing then bummer for you. also im not on his dick. im tired of ns bitchin and monin cause filming.
 
alright before you go calling the rest of the competitors teenage pricks, you might want to think about who the future of the sport is. i have nothing against Corey Vanular, in fact I love watching him ski, but is their really any better way to put a young skier on map than sending him to compete in JOSS. For example, how many of us would know about someone like Jeff Kiesel if it wasn't for 4bi9. People like Jeff have been gifted with good opportunities to get noticed. But what if some of those skiers dont have those opportunities? sure some of them will still find ways to make it in the ski business. But if we just keep focusing on the main people in the sport right now their are a lot of good skiers that will be unnoticed during their prime. Im not trying to put down Vanular because i would definitely enjoy seeing him throw down at Joss, but just give the other kids a chance.
 
yeah, but that's not really the point here. have you looked at the top rated videos? none of them are unknowns. if it's not vanular, it's going to be someone else who is already pro (likely Walker).
 
Vanular isn't old at all. He's like 21 so still pretty young. I know younger than Wallisch. Not to mention he is capable of every aspect at JOSS. He knows he's shit and way more creative than half the guys already there. Plus Vanular has been off the radar for the past few years and is just recently coming back. People are just too blind to see how good is actually is and how he has made this sport what it is. Seriously if Vanular doesn't go NS is fucking retarded. Not saying Bobby or Gus or Logan shouldn't go but get Vanular on the team. One thing I've noticed is how he really wants to go. He actually posts in threads and isn't a dick he's just stoked on what people are saying. I know most of the people competing aren't really frequent newschoolers, just saying. VANULAR FOR TEAM NS!
 
what im saying is that instead of calling the unknowns pricks give them a chance. Oskari Raitanen and Joey Spencer absolutely slays but people just look at the big names like Walker and Vanular and vote these kids down cause they just want to see Pro's go to JOSS.

this sounds gay obviously because i hate to suck a pro's dick.............. but corey asked my friend to vote his video a 10 on fbook (he was at my house saw it happen) and when my buddy asked him if he had learnt dubs he said yeah, dub flat and dub cork so now all you kids who think dubs are necessary to be there you go, not only is a stylie fucker, he can do "comp tricks" too

Well to clarify I think Vanular should go. My post was to say that because of his poor edit (good skiing, bad camera work) and considering there are a lot of really good "lesser kown" skiers with better edits it hurts his chances. Just to reiterate that the contest is a video contest not a judged comp or a list of riders who we vote on based on there previous edits thus my reasoning on video quality.
 
I'd like to remind everyone that style tricks are worth the same as technical tricks this year, Vanular has both.

gus and bobby on the other hand, not so much. Not to take anything away from them, they are both very talented and clean, but they just seem to lack a certain flow and level of style from people like Vanular, Lolo, Chris Logan, Walker, SeanJ, and others.
 
Vanular for JOSS ! and everybody, lets forget Bobby Brown, Jon Olsson confirmed himself that hes invited no matter what. And Gus is good, but ... Id personnally prefer Vanular, sick style, crazy skills, his edit is not to his level, true, but he lacks shots.

I think it would be really cool to see NS send three skiers who did not rely on double flips to show how nasty they are. That's why Favre, Vanular, and Walker would be such a dope team, and it would represent the way a lot of people on this site feel about skiing which is that creativity, good style, good grabs, etc. is more important than hucking crazy double flip/cork variations
 
Thats what I like to hear. Get Vanular there and I know he will not disappoint. I just want a butter 270 onto urban.

Anyone who watches Vanulars part in long story short will think twice about calling wallisch the king of afterbang. Corey has always been about doing new things (essentially inventing the pretzel). In a time where skiers are constantly doing the same shit (x-games big air/ double corks) its sick to see corey doing nose butters off huge ass jumps and innovative shit like that. Def get this kid into the JOSS!
 
Yes I can, sorry for being critical of the videography skills of whoever put that together. You can't honestly say that Laurent's and Lj's(first two that come to mind) aren't a step above the rest as far as quality filming and I think that plays a bigger part than you know./end
Note: I said nothing about skiing ability or style.
 
vanular should be there, imagine the potential, he is so young too still and he has barely skied in years, and has an equal rail game with anyone in the game still, and more uniuqe jumps.
 
are you really this dumb, this isn't a contest for the filmers, it's for the skiers, the ONLY factor that influence your decision is the riding, if you disagree you're hopelessly retarded.
 
It says under the video that he edited it himself in imovie, too bad cause if only he filmed with a hv30 or whatever and gopro and then had berman edit the shit out of it id vote for him. But no, because he didnt his skiing is lacking so i just bring my self to vote for him. are you serious? this is not final entry this is just supposed to show his SKIING talent.

everyone knows Vanular is good enough for JOSS.. His style is just outstanding... I agree that the edit wasnt the best, but if you know anything about skiing, you know that Corey is one of the best in the game. its not his editing skills who counts.. its his skiing skills, and they are amazing.
 
A. Don't hate on Gus Kenworthy, he is an extremely well-rounded skier and would most likely throw down at JOSS.B. You are correct though in saying that Vanular should be going to JOSS.
 
i think vanular slays and is super steezy but i'm pretty sure isn't fully recovered and his edit doesn't show the same level of tech ticks that others like matt walker and gus kenworthy have got with big tricks and dubs done really well.

JOSS is a video contest which nobody seems to get. Being able to throw the most tech tricks does not make the best video part. Something the whole industry could learn from snowboarding actually..
