Are there any good vertical half pipe in the Vancouver area. Well maintained, preferably cut evey night. Im trying to collect data so I can make my decision of where to move to. If there isn't one in Vancouver what would be the closest pipe? Thanks for your input.

Cypress is getting a brand new pipe and cutter next year to prepare for the olympics. Theyre also majorly upgrading their park. We need more skiers up there. I had the park to myself until 12 today.

Is that the pipe that the olympics are going to be held at? Will it be cut like an olympic half pipe?

That's actually the benefit of cypress... occasionally they'll have a passable rail line with all that telus stuff too. If you're into that. The jumps usually suck, sometimes there's a hip or something. Grouse needs a fucking pipe dragon.

Next week Cypress is puttin in a jump line with the biggest, if im not mistaken, a 45 foot table. They are havin a snowboard slopestyle so theyre making it nice and lettin ppl on it before the comp.

^ the real important question is whether or not pipe access is going to be like seymour. they are nazis at cypress

why do you think I bought a green jacket this year? to slither and snake through the trees unnoticed and miser my way into the pipe there. I think we need to build a stealth trail through the woods before the snow falls so that we have a prime time poaching path for the winter.

Couldn't you hike from the 2nd parking lot, into the trees, up past the bunny hill, then ski around the people who check passes?

yes, yes you can.....but it is incredible sketchy. I fucking hate cypress, they are soo anal about passes. i did it for a comp once, but didn't end up skiing or anything. just took phiatos.     You'lll probally have to buy a pass.

haha, i wouldnt even call the pipe at seymour a pipe, i dont go up there much but everytime ive seen it, it was more of a slight incline on either sides

On top of that, cypress is also going to charge $96 a day for skiing, but make you park 3 km away so half your day will be walking to and from your car and being too tired to ever ski those new runs.

Cypress is really on it this year.

you're right about the 3km walk to the hill, but on their website for the 07/08 season, it's $53 for an adult during "peak period", $50 normally, and $49 for youth during "peak period", and $45 for youth during normal times.

Not a huuuuge amount more than grouse, but seasons passes are the same price as whistler this year, though...

And seymour is dirt cheap...
