Vaio or Dell

im getting a new notebook and will be using it for schoolwork and photo/video editing....im between the sony vaio270b or a dell inspiron notebook....what should i get?...anyone kno from experience?
 
dells arent the pick of the crop, but i have also heard that vaios break incredibly easily! and their customer service sucks more than dells, which is pretty bad. just because my laptop and all my other computers are dells, i would go with the dell man, i still have yet to have problems with mine.
 
no way man i just need something thats gonna work and i too was in between a dell and the vaio but i like how the sonys look better
 
I've got a Dell laptop. It's lasted two years with no problems, and I use it 8 hours every day (for work/school)....
 
If the two products are IDENTICAL in every way, then buying one for looks would be good.

But if the two have comparable differences, cosmetics don't matter, but performance does.

I suppose if you're just using it for a general average use lappy, then it'd be fine though.
 
here's something to consider. sony tech support sucks balls! i don't know how dell's is, as i've never delt with them. and personally, i'm more of an ibm fan, so no dells or sonys for me.
 
I had a vaio last year ad i hated it. I don't know what was wrong with it but it was always incredibly slow and would freeze all the time even though it had pretty good specs. So, based on my experiences I would say get a dell instead.
