Vail Terrain Park. UGH.

Okay so I spent a few hours in the Golden Peak park at Vail today. Personally, I loved the features, lots of space, very well-kept, etc.

The people SUCKED. It was horrid. A bunch of groms and gapers EVERYWHERE, and their instructors were no better. I couldn't get to a box without some six-year-old or a snowboarder cutting me off. If they limited it, it would be better, but until then, it's perpetually gaper day.

haha, it's Vail man, we're the Mecca for all gapers. Don't know how to ski? Head to the fun park!!

Thanks for the comments on the park though. What were you wearing? I'm sure I saw you out there today.

Also, I didn't see any of the Vail Ski Club kids out there today. They are generally the best kids in the park, and most of them throw down pretty hard.

It would have been good to see someone actually trying ANYTHING.

Everyone I saw was just going straight. The few people that did try anything ate shit pretty hard and weren't even trying.

There is definitely some talent in Vail, usually at least a few kids out there killin it. However I'd rather drive to Breck or Key and hit their park over Vail, just better/safer jumps imo.

I definitely saw some kids throwin down and going for it. but the ratio of them to people who had no idea what they are doing was 1 to 09840287394827. Unfortunatey drivings out of the picture for me

Hmm... it helps to not sit down- plug in some tunes and rip by yourself homie. Theres never a need for other people when you can haul laps on golden peak by yourself. Try to learn a new trick/new style every day. And please, spend some time outside of the park at Vail, you won't regret it. Lay down some 1's, 3's, and 5's off the seemingly thousands of cliffs and side jumps all around the mountain.

I spent all day there today, I ski all-mountain as much as if not more than park. I love the mountain, I'm just surprised at the amount of people there who either have no idea what theyre doing or just completely regard common sense and get people hurt.

Today is my Monday. I'll be the only Park Crew on skis. If you see me, say hi. I'll probably be spending a lot of time over in the Bwana park too.
