im heading up to vail/breck/keystone in a couple weeks for spring break and im super stoked. i went last year and i remember parking for vail was like 25$ or something. i was wondering if anyone knew of any places or areas where parking is cheaper and/or free. also, im looking to buy a new pair of skis so if anyone knos any good shops in the area. im sure there are hundreds of them but i just want some opinions from people from the area. thanks +k

Get up late and let the mountain warm up...generally by then the parking will be full at the lots and spilling out onto the frontage road where its free.

My suggestion for killing time in the morning is the Little Diner by moe's bbq for Corned beef hash...so good.

if you get off the interstate next to the holiday inn, there is a free parking lot called the wendy's lot. the bus ride from there sucks but its free. Oh and you could always run on over to the holiday inn and take their shuttle, but tip the guy, otherwise its a dick move.

...get off at the East Vail exit, and park at the free lot just around the corner. Hop on that bus, runs every 15 minutes.

vail parking is more than a pain in the ass. 45 mins it took the buss to get back to my car last weekend...

Good suggestion on the parking, but I would go to MInturn and hit the Turntable for a Boos Breakfast Burrito. It's the best thing I have ever eaten. I used to go through DT's if I didn't have one often enough. Had to do acupuncture therapy to kick the habit.

mmmm... the turntable... so good. just don't stay in one of their rooms, definitely the shittiest hotel room i've ever stayed in...
