curious if anyone can give me a park update for Vail.. heading there friday after missing most of the season with an ankle sprain. hoping for a few decent days....
well ive been working lifts for a couple days so i havent been in the park lately, but as of a few days ago they had torn down the whole main jump line...
all the rails and shit are still up though, and the mini jump line
3 big-ish jumps (step down, step up kinda, table), lots of flat bars, some big rail features, fd box, lots of beginner boxes, tiny jump line, a really long urban rail with a weird (but fun) takeoff, urban dfd, log jibs.
hope that helps
yea man they made new wedges for the tables, one of 'em is a step-up i guess... if 40-50 degrees again tomorrow i'll prob. just be lapping that, or building a booter somewhere. i got the next 2 days off
The speed is much better on the big line now. Two step downs to a step up. Just about every 10 year old kid I saw was d-spinning the first hit. Super pipe was nice. Mini Pipe had a big hole in the rightside wall. Rails are nice, and they have a log canon. It's grippy right at the end so olly off a little early or you'll get pummled. There is a horizontal log bonk at the bottom and verticle log tail tap. They also put in some sketchy log rails, battleship and rainbow. Beginner rails are pretty fun. They have a semi spine skinny box that is great for lipping on. Every time I slide that thing my skis stick like glue when I get back on the snow. Worse than the white fun boxes for some reason. Their is a super smooth flat down box higher up too. Sick wall ride just below the quarter. I think the crew is doing a great job of maintaining the park considering how fricking warm it's been up there.
yeah whenever ive been at vail the bowls have been crusty but i have heard unless its a pow day they usually are correct me if im wrong i probably am. and the weather says it should snow every day i am there i will update too on the park and snow when i get there
gnar day today, they called 8" fresh but it was more like 12-15" if you know where to go... dropped some big hits, hiked some good stuff. great day. they say more snow is coming tonight.
