Vail lift lines bad?

Hey NS'ers i am going to be in Colorado to ski fro the 10th-16th in March and when we booked our accommodation we got two free lift tickets to Vail. I've been reading some threads and it sounds like Vail has really bad lines maybe even an hour or that might be someone just exaggerating. If you guys could clear this matter up it would greatly be appreciated. thanks and Peace

It depends on how crowded it is but yeah they can get pretty damn long. Just remember that one side of the lift will always have a lot longer line than the other.

Vail is so big that I never even see another person until about 1. Just go straight to blue sky basin when you get there until everyone fizzles out around the resort. its fucking massive dude, the size of keystone and breckinridge combined

wut...so one of you have waited 45mins and someone else has never had to wait in line?? wuts the dealio hear?

is it just liike a couple of the main ones that are relly bad becasue they service the easy hillsand so you can go to a palce where there are like only hard runs so there will be less people>

exactly, that and the massive size of vail. well over 5,000 acres. it takes 45 minutes to ski from the first lift to the back of vail at blue sky. the park is on the front side but you really don't go to vail for park at all.

The lines are only bad if you go where all the Tourists and shit go. Vail is huge, and lines can get bad at times but once everyone disperses over the mtn as said above, it is fine. It just takes some time to discover the less crowded parts of the mtn.

i guess i ll be finding some less populated areas then can anyone tell me some good ones? where its less crowded

If crowds get super bad, I like to go over to to the highline chair. It is the oldest and slowest lift on the mtn (on the far east side of the frontside), but the 2 runs that are off of it (highline and blueox) are steep and fast and pretty long. Lift lines are never a problem off of this lift and you have a choice of a super long fast groomed type run or a total leg burner of a mogul run.

you have to understand that there is no "frontside" or "backside" at vail. its over 5,000 acres spread across 5 or 6 different mountains. there are plenty of places to go without finding people. my advice would be to go to blue sky basin straight away. its the furthest back, no people, great snow (much better than the first lifts of the resort) and tons of places to explore. if you spend 2 weeks at vail you probably won't get through everything they have. its massive

if you go anywhere on the weekends there will be lines. Try avoiding those days and go on a tuesday or wednesday and you will be fine

yeah dude, theres no point going out on the weekends, i leave those for sleeping in and catching up on my drinking

dude you have to do at least one day at vail. plus we have gotten like 35 inches in a week and its always nice like that.

well yah i got me a free day pass there so i am deff gunna be skiing there but hopefully when theres lots o powder

the only time i had a long wait, was when they got about a foot of snow, i can't remember the lift name, it was off of red square though
