Wouldn't heli-skiing from one of these be sick? I'm gonna do it. Hop right out the back and shit.

I feel bad for people who don't drink, cause when they wake up in the morning, thats the best the're going to feel all day

They'd be real fun; crashing and whatnot. Why not jest take a OH-6 'Littlebird'? Have fun landing on a mountain-top LZ with the Osprey. Only problem with Littlebird might be the operation at extreme altitude. And you don't get to warm up inside it while getting a lift back up. Cold for pilots too. Hey, why not just stick with the birds they use now?

Yeah but that back ramp in the Opsrey is sweet. Screw landing on the LZ, just hop right out mid-air styles.

The V-22 is produced in my hometown. When these things were early prototypes, they still are prototypes, they would fly around over the city. These things haul ass. They're so much faster than a standard fixed prop helecoptor and could get you to where you want to ski a hell of a lot faster and locations further away. The only problem I see with this is boarding the Osprey when your at the base of the mtn, they produce hella rotor wash.

 
There has to be some reason that heliski companies don't run big ships that can fit at least twice as many people per run

 
There is a reason; it because they land where helo's weren't made to land, on the peaks of mountains. Think about it; how big and how solid is the top of a peak? Answer: not very. No way you could land an Osprey on a mountain. Hell, aircraft carrier probably hard enough. The Eurocopter A Star does the job mighty fine.

second of all, if you're hardcore enough you don't even need to land.

The skids on an A star aren't that much smaller then most bell helicopters which can fit 9-14 depending on the seating setup.
