UW skiing?

I'm considering going to UW next fall and I'm worried that the skiing may be limited. I know it's sort of close to Stevens Pass but how close? Would be a good idea to bring my car with me? Any insight is much appreciated.
 
how's alpental? and I've heard it's really expensive for parking at the university, is this the case?
 
Yes, parking is kinda expensive. I go there and I ride Stevens with my car. I'm trying to get a job to pay off my parking pass but this hiring shit is slow as hell. It's a super ill college academically, but the dorms are kinda bunk. The ski clubs here are kinda weird, but there are homies around who ride.
 
Dude don't pay for parking. Park in greek system area. It's free and you can usually find spots. Just move you car every now and then (about every 3 weeks) and you won't get a ticket.
 
do yourself a favor and pick a school for the school and not for the skiing. think about it, your gonna be on campus 7 days out the week, the mountain you'll only see at most 2-3 (thats if you care about educating yourself atleast). besides, once your done, you got all your life to live wherever you want.

ill be attending my first year at uw next year. Pretty stoked! Havnt decided to dorm or go into the greek life. Ive rushed at tkes and sigma chi to party but i havnt really seen any at a regular time. Any knowledge on this stuff would be great.

Greek system here is pretty chill. I'm a freshman rushing right now. Try to get into Alpha Delts. It's like the skier house here. A Sigs and Chi Psi are also chill. They limited the current freshman they're signing (except Chi Psi), so I'm not gonna be a part of that. Such is life.

TKE is gonna party all the fucking time, and that's what they're about, so explore more. Dorm life here sucks, and most of the skiers head to the Greek system anyway. Alpha Delts is tight as fuck, so I can't recommend them enough. I.Dahl on here is a member there. He's a homie. And I ride Stevens with David from that house too. I forget his NS name.

Really though, I want to know who had class in BAG 130 last quarter and replied to me writing THALL on one of those beat ass desks. You wrote ankles beneath that, so you know what the fuck is up. IDENTIFY THYSELF!
 
Yeah pretty much what pat said, skiing at UW can be dope if you make the time and find the right people to go with. Stevens is about 2 hours away, Snoqulamie/Alpental is 1 hour, Whistler and Mount Hood are about 5 hours. Not a bad place to be. Trying to get a little more organized in terms of making a ski club, we have a facebook group called "Husky Freestyle ski team" but it kinda sucks. I can add you to it anyway.

Definitely rush around and see if you like it, the worst that can happen is you get really fucked up and get tons of free shit. I can give your name to our rush chairs and you can come take a house tour/ come to a party. The greek system isn't for everyone but it can be a ton of fun and really rewarding if you find the right house.

I committed to the UW yesterday and I've been looking at seasons passes, the price is the same for stevens and snoqualamie (both of which have a special college student discount) so I was wondering which one would be easier to get a ride to... I'm local so I know Stevens is better for skiing overall but theres no point in having a pass there if I can't get up to the hill
 
I go up there pretty much every weekend. Just toss me some gas money. Most other people hit Snocompton because it's closer.
 
If your looking at joining a frat at UW let me know cause i'm a current freshman at Lambda Chi Alpha and its so sick. Everyone there is chill plenty of people ski making it easy to get a ride and you may be able to get a spot for your car. Let me know if your interested and i'll be sure to get you out and check it out.
