UW housing

so i am goin to the UW next year and i was wondering how the housing situation is. i more than likely will be gettin an apartment with a few friends, droms r hella small for the # of people. how much have/do you guys pay for ur places on or near campus?
 
I pay $400 for a largeish room down in the basement of a 8 bedroom house my friends and I rented out. All the rooms are about $400-$450. Go off campus, its sooooo much better. But if you do dorm, do McCarty, best dorm for sure. Stay the fuck away from McMahon.

Off campus U-district houses are the shit.

in the fuckin architecture (well, temporary architecture) building no less. people getting all high strung and shit.
 
your not gonna have many friends if you don't live in the dorms for a year. id go dorms for a year, then off campus housing after that. its super hard to meet kids if you live off campus your first year.

Oh your fucked... thats McMahon, pretty much my least favorite dorm. You thought you got a good deal cause your friends and all will have a commons area... but you wont ever use it, you'll be in your small, cramped room most of the time, 3 feet away from your roommate, max. Go for the sorority, or just a house with some friends.
 
dorms there are baaaad, but the dinign serives are good, houses around there arent that bad, its pretty cheap, well relativly and theres some pretty sweet houses
 
The dining services are terrible. Everything at the 8 is absolute rubbish, you pretty much have to buy food at U village or make meals out of snacks at Ians Domain.
