Is anyone else there going to be a freshmen in a few months. I am coming from Boston so I don't know anyone out there and it would be great to know some skiers beforehand.

Are you guys going to get a Stevens pass?

I am also doing Early Fall Start if anyone else is.

I am stoked for the upcoming year.
 
yeah, im coming up from california. Im not doing early fall start, but im definitely getting a stevens pass.

Is there some sort of ski club at UW? cause i definitely want to meet a good group of people to ski with.
 
yes there is. from what i hear they are not especially cool... haha, but i have no clue. the only association i have had with them is when they put on the refresh premiere, which i liked, but was kinda gay at the same time.

i go to high school in seattle though.
 
oh the joy that newschoolers brings me. I always love reading from the endless bits of wisdom that peter shares daily for all sorts of issues.
 
ha, what? i'm sharing my opinion about it...

i have never had anything to do with the UW skiing club or whatever, except for the premiere for refresh.

i didn't like the performance they had at the beginning, which is why it was "kinda gay at the same time"

i didn't go to the premiere to watch them play guitar, but i did go to watch refresh, which i thoroughly enjoyed.
 
There is husky winter sports, not sure what the point of them is.

And then there is some ski club that goes to snocompton~

stevens is where people ski.

cept husky winter sports. Alex is the only cool one of them. If you have cash to spend, and free time (poly sci joke here) getting a pass to alpental for going up after school would be cool.

and ya, avoid husky winter sports.
 
I'm entering as a freshman next year!

I've heard mixed reviews about the winter clubs and stuff. I'm avoiding them... Sure I get a free ride to the pass, but I don't mind going up on my own time, and not teaching. hehehe
 
Im coming there next year and I live here in Seattle. Definitely would recommend going to Stevens. Its where I have skied since 3rd grade and there is terrain for basically anyone.
 
I'm from Walla Walla Washington and I'll be attending UW as a freshman next year too. I already have my season pass to Stevens Pass next year. Should be fun, feel free to hit me up man.

I will be getting a pass to Stevens for sure, and hopefully can find some rides there on a regular basis.
 
^ I'm going greek but don't know my house yet. I'll be taking my car up I think and driving up hopefully every weekend to ski.
 
Word, I have checked some out, and will continue to do so once I get back out there. I just want to experience the dorms first.
 
Last year, there was some ski/snowboard club at UW that did a gas reimbursement program for people driving up together. Some of my friends joined, and got quite a bit of their gas money refunded by the school. I don't know details; maybe Squiggles, Nick, or Ryan could help out here.
 
Thanks a lot. I'll look in to that! I was planning on looking into the ski club already but gas reimbursement would be so sick.
 
I've stayed at the UW dorms before (for some prodigy lacrosse crap, I'm not in college im only a sophomore in HS) the idea was funner than the stay but it wasn't bad.
 
No offense, but your experience of staying in dorms with high school / middle school kids has very little relevance to this conversation. So feel free to stay out of this discussion.
 
just signed at Chi Psi fraternity. It's a sick place with a good bunch of guys. I hear there are a lot of skiers in the house too. Hit me up for ski days, jeaaaaa
 
Oh and is anyone interested in/ does anyone know about an avy 1 class around uw, cause I really want to get that done this year.
