UVIC/Victoria head count

So I'm gonna be heading to UVIC almost certainly next year for a good chunk of the next 4 years, and I'm gonna miss being so close to all the easy accessed skiing right out of Van. 3 locals (4 if you include Hemlock), Whis/B-Comb, Manning, Baker, all within 2.5 hour drives. I never realized how dope that is until right before I'm gonna be away from it... I know Victoria is only a ferry ride away plus a little drive, but that can be a lot at the beginning and end of a day of skiing.
So to help me deal with likely skiing less than I already am (Damn academic courses), it would be nice to know who else shreds out of UVIC or Victoria, and how you peeps deal with it. I guess you probably ride Mt Washington, but that's a fair drive isn't it?
I've seen sooooooo many skiing premiere dates for Victoria, so it seems there's a good number of you people out there. Who is part of this Victoria skiing scene?
Sparknotes: I'm gonna be in Victoria next season, who else will be and where/how often do you shred?
Thanks.
Stoked on UVIC, not sure about the skiing from there...

I'm usually out there. Taking a semester off right now to shred. Its not too bad skiing wise. You have to work to make it to the hill but when you do, it feels goooood. Get into the Snow Club. They run trips to Mt Washington and the interior. Talk to jibwest.Lord on here. He runs the snow club.

As far as permiers go, theres tons. I put one on last semester and there were 2 or three other ski films and another 5 or so snowboard flicks. The scene is good.

I moved to Victoria from the LowerMainland over 2 years ago. Yeah, you don't realize how lucky you are to have the north shore in your backyard.

When I lived in whistler I didn't realize how awesome my backyard was.... It was the forest that I hiked up for powder skiing, but hey there mount wash and cane. Also mount wash has a shuttle bus.

Cool thanks, sounds doable for sure. Mount Cain looks like it's really far away though. I guess weekends back at home could work out too sometimes. Shredding from home would be pretty easy if I had time for it.

I have friends that go up mount Cain and they love it. They said it gets lots of snow and have area's were you ski into back country but lead you right back into a run

Welcome Kevski. UVic is dope. Mainly because of UVicSnow, which is basically the dopest thing at UVic, besides me..

Questions holler my way.

And Mt. Cain is UNREAL. I just came back from cain and it was knee deep pow all day. SO Sick!

what a modest guy hahaha. uvic snow is dope. you really wont have that much trouble riding on weekends, ive been going home every few weekends to go ride the local mountains, just move your schedule around so you either have a friday or monday off, or classes that you can peace to have a monday or friday off
