Mother Nature is about to refund the West for the shitty winter of 2014-2015. Check this article and temp map weather.com just released for the month of November:

This paired with the dump of snowfall about to murk Rainier is hopefully a sign of a prosperous winter in the west.

there was a thread about this last week with the opposite forecast for the winter.

this is the only one you can bank on

Keep in mind this map only represents temperature and only for the month of November.

And that its freezing cold here in SLC and Mt. Baker up north is about to get 12 feet of snow in one weekend.... yeahhhh looks like its heading that way.

obviously last year wasn't the best but it surely wasn't too horrendous. it was cold but it just didn't snow. A few of those pow days were rather brisk, though. I recall seeing a temp of like -15 at the top of the tram and it was a bit windy out.

who knows, we got a chance for a good storm next week and its cold as balls out right now. PCs been blowing snow since like Wednesday/Thursday and its not supposed to get too warm in the near future. Last season was a blast though despite the snowfall and it being "the worst season on record", which I still lol about because we were taking spring pow laps in late april/early may till snowbird closed. Not too bad of a season in my opinion but we still have a bit of a climate change issue going on. Park city is surely fucked though if things don't shape up, Jupe was bare bones and really sketchy to ski last year.

The west had an average season last year. Cold and no snow. Hopefully both of us get som good snow this year. It doesn't even get below 20 until like the last day of November which is quite rare. It 50 degrees in mid november for MN. I don't like the looks of this winter already

No snow storm in octobet this year. It's snowed in the valley by the end of October for the last 4 years at least, even last year.

Have you never spent a winter in the west?

Meant to say the west had an average year in the midwest. Cold and snow. So many complaints and I would have been fine with it. We had like a record low this year in MN. There was maybe 3 inches on the ground

This storm coming to UT could fuck up the BC big time. I'm really hoping we get minimal snow until end of November.

One foot-ish of snow at the beginning of November will make big north facing headwalls (Coal Pit) most likely unhittable until spring time. Early season snow will really determine if the gnar lines are possible this year.

It's not time yet boys, just need to hold out a little longer!

basically every day on the east coast

its certainly cold for Utah but yes, that would be something a lot of you are used too. Those are honestly some of the best days to ski cuz the snows gonna be good all day and people are total pussies out here when it comes to weather. A good number of Snowbird/Alta skiers are fair-weather fans.

No, peak of Baker is saying maybe 4 feet.

No it didnt

It didn't stick but it definitely snowed in October last year, and the year before that, and the year before that, and the year before that, and the year before that, and the year before that.

since 2009 it has snowed in October below 6000' at least once.

im in utah, yeah last year wasn't that good, but there were still some DEEP days, especially around Christmas. Hopefully this year will bring more snow, but if it doesn't i don't think i'll even notice because skiing at Alta is fun no matter what conditions are

Not sure where the hell in the West you're from, but CO is gonna be below 20 every night starting Wednesday

From MN which is quite ironic. Ive almost never heard Colorado being colder than MN in winter. Once we hit december this year its gonna be around 20 below. Went skiing when it was 38 below last year lel
