you seriously have to be the dumbest person alive, no parks? if your in salt lake, sugarhouse, city park in PC, the whole Wasatch National Forest, no Lakes? deer creek, utah lake, etc, if you sake there are a ton of skateparks, the one out in sandy is pretty cool, biking? everywhere the foothills, millcreek,i mean seriously nothing to do?? its because you aren't going and doing anything so stop bitching cuz its your own damn fault that your so fucking bored all the time.

 
fcuk that, at least you can ski in Idaho. Kansas is much worse, as americans we should kick Kansas out of the union. Only state in the nation that still gives away land for free. flat as a pancake. I hate kansas

 
she does make a point about the water systems in Utah. but there are so many other activities to so here that it is really hard to be bored. Posted this in another thread:

Utah really doesn't have any major river systems compared to neighboring states, i.e. Idaho, colorado, new mexico. Utah has at best a class 3 that is the colorado river out of moab, the rest you can float down in a tube. Whereas, other states have much more complex and bigger river systems. But hey it is the desert environment that gives Utah "the greatest snow on earth."

 
Kansas is the worst state nebraska is a close second though, they are both about 8 hours wide of absolutely nothing. I hate driving through either, and I have to drive through one or the other to get back home.

Wow, why do some people have to rip on places like this? I just moved to pc from idaho...and i think idaho(well McCall area) is way more sweeter than this place, but its still dope here and will get way sweeter once I meet some chill people. Lisa, you just need to get outa slc and move to pc or near it, in the mountains. And Idaho has soo much more outdoor stuff to do, theres so many lakes and rivers and many sweet places to mt bike and you can take a 5 min drive and go rock climbing. So people need not to talk shit about places they haven't been!
 
taylor you've probably never even been in idaho. lets just say that while i'm here, in SLC, i can look for things to do and not find them. and idaho i can know things to do and do them. this is why i say fuck this place, i am moving. i think to somewhere cool, somewhere with snow, good bud, real beer, cool people, and small town. sounds like COCC on the rock to me. yea baller. you all have fun in this lame ass state, everyone (EVERYONE) who warned me not to move out here cuz it's gay was indeed 100% correct. the people suck, the bud sucks, the beer sucks, weather sucks, town sucks, bout the only thing utah has goin for it is snow. You say "People need not to talk shit about places they havn't been" Grammar aside, I've seen tons of lakes and rivers and mountain biking and climbing right next to town. Just because you don't know where they are, doesn't mean they don't exist. So try not to be a hippicrit. I hear people from Idaho say how much better it is all the time, well if it was so great why the hell did you leave?
 
i was just being sarcastic. but still utah has the same as what idaho has. hiking, swimming. skiing is far better then anywhere in the US. i dont understand why you dont get out.
 
there is no swimming here. nothing in comparison, nick already proved that. it's not about which one is better overall, because each state has many unique things about it...i think for me it's more people. i've met alot of people and none are as cool as my friends from back home, everyone just sits and does nothing here it seems like. you people always talk about going out and doing shit, well, who actually does it? i mean, i haven't done anything like that with any of the people that live here at all. except we went up this dirt path with katie and she is from idaho so that doesn't count. the fact is, i'm leaving, and when you all realize how unavoidably GAY SLC is (other than snow), maybe you will do the same. but for now, eph this town. I love being such a hater.
 
Ice you are a fuckin idiot...i said this place is sweet to, and it will get just as dope as idaho as soon as i meet some kids around here. And i have lived here for a summer before this and i had a lot harder time findin things to do around here. So just to let you know, i am not being a hippocrit i'm just saying that so far idaho is still a tad bit cooler than this place

I sure don't like hanging out with people who are constantly negative, and I think everyone in utah is happy that you are leaving so they won't have to hear your shit all winter long.

If you're gonna leave this state because the swimming isn't as good, you arn't very into skiing. I've never heard anything good about Idaho skiing. I just think you should give this place a little longer before you discard it. I mean you've lived here what, two months? Moving anywhere takes some adjusting, it's your first time out of the house and you're going to move back home after a few months? Ball up, you will eventually meet people you like, there is plenty of good pot don't worry about that. Beer, well fuck beer the snow more than makes up for it. You can't expect to meet your "BFF" in two months. Sack it up and stay through the winter, you probably won't regret it. All I know is I've taken the initative to explore this state and there is plenty of rivers and lakes, even around salt lake.
 
yeah i might as well chime in.. girl you better grow up. idaho is better huh. well then move. more turns for us. and let me just tell you this. the people here are chill. shure there is the whole dominate religion thing, but if you get past your cloesminded life you might see that there are a lot more people in utah than in idaho, and out of those people there are many more people in utah who are from out of state where as idaho is just people from utah who moved to idaho. isn't there a HUGE morman population in idaho. so look, grow up, and get out, meet some people and get off of the Idaho high horse.

and if you leave before winter you just prove how close-minded you really are.

oh and PS there is great bud here, great biking, good beer if you know how to get it, and did i say the bud is good. if you know who to talk to...
 
utah has cataract canyon, split mountain on the green, gates of ladore, desolation canyon, the upper prove, the weber, the upper price, lcc creek. try these in a tube.
 
P.S. If your biggest hang up is the fact that the Mormon religion is dominant here... then GET OVER IT. If you walked 2/3 of the way cross country, pulling all of your personal belongings, and having half of your family die on the way, and then you make a thriving a community in the middle of the deseret, then you can do what you damn well please with the state you founded...

If you choose to associate, or disassociate with a person based on what religion they are, then you are extremely shallow and close-minded. Not all Mormon people are ultra conservative freaks... get to know the culture here before you trash it.

If bud, beer, and partying is the most important thing to you in life right now, then maybe you are in the wrong place... but you may learn something new, and have some interesting experiences that you may not have had elsewhere.

alright dude. i come from the second most highly populated mormon area in the country. i have no problem with anyones religion, you are completely free to do what you please, just as i am. i never said anything about mormons, because they really dont bother me unless they leave stupid posts like iluvbyu does. and you know? i'm not a negative person when there is something to be positive about, however i have very few things to be happy about while living in utah...so what i'm unhappy here? you guys are the ones who wont let this fucking post die! i hereby declare that this is my last post in this thread and i bet it will go on forever and i will keep getting messages. get over it, i dont like utah, i can say whatever i want on this site, i said it, you guys freaked out, and that's the end of it. i am moving back to boise, back to where i can be a happy person, and you know what? i am happy about that. talk to anyone up here and i'm not negative, i'm always extremely positive and happy with what is going on around me, perhaps because i am content with my surroundings. utah just didn't work out for me, i'm glad you guys all think it's so awesome, but the place just isn't for me.
